Marco is legendary - We had an absolutely incredible trekking experience at Cavagrande thanks to our guide, Marco. He is truly exceptional and clearly deeply passionate about what he does. Marco’s knowledge is outstanding—he has a genuine love for landscapes, geology, and history, but what really stood out was his incredible expertise in flora and fauna. He is wonderfully geeky (in the best possible way!) about plant species, explaining everything we passed along the way. We loved learning about the different plants, tasting wild asparagus and various herbs straight from nature—it made the hike feel immersive and unforgettable. As a trekking guide, Marco is extremely knowledgeable and considerate. He knows the routes inside out and deliberately took us down the least busy but most picturesque path, walking alongside the river through Cavagrande. He was always careful, thoughtful, and attentive—especially mindful of thorns and tricky sections of the trail—making sure we felt safe and comfortable throughout. Beyond the hike itself, Marco went above and beyond. At the end of the trip, he even drove us back to the city via the most scenic route, despite how challenging the road conditions were for his car—all just to show us more of Sicily’s beauty and share his love for the island. Along the way, he brought Sicily’s history to life, explaining the necropolis and the layers of influence from the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and Spanish. His storytelling and depth of knowledge added so much richness to the experience. We highly, highly recommend Marco to anyone looking for a trekking guide in Sicily. We will absolutely be reaching out to him again for future hikes—Stromboli, the Aeolian Islands, and Mount Etna are already on our list. An unforgettable experience with a truly passionate guide!

Amazing hidden gem in Avola Sicily - Stumbled across this hiking tour by accident on TripAdvisor but it turned out to be one of the best highlights of our holiday. The hike itself was relatively easy and the natural pool at the bottom was definitely worth the upward climb afterward. We had Fredricko as our guide who wasn't just easy to talk to but also kind and helpful and really took the time to make the hike worth it with his knowledge of the area, the plantation and general tourist activities in Scilly. He is truly amazing and I refuse to stop singing his praises.

Cava grande del Cassibile - Superb excursion with our guide Federico, very professional and pleasant. A difficult descent with the heat but at the finish the reward: paradise awaited us. Unforgettable!

Must-do experience in Siracusa - We would recommend this tour to everyone who likes nature, walking and amazing views! At first we wanted to do the tour by ourselves but we are happy we chose the guided tour. Federico took us all the way down to the water pool while explaining lots about the history of the area, the plants, etc. We had good talks, and time went by too fast... The descent and uphill hike were less hard than what we imagined.

Highly recommend this experience! - We had an amazing time hiking with Frederico. It's a short drive from Siracusa and Frederico kept us entertained with information about the location. The views, sights, and sounds were amazing. Frederico was so knowledgeable about the location and plants. The pool at the bottom of the hike was beautiful and we all ejoyed a swim in the cold, clear water. This hike back up was a good workout!

A beautiful excursion!! - Frederico gave us a wonderful tour of the cavagrande reserve. We were a small group which made it perfect to hike and talk. Frederico gave us very interesting explainations and facts about the area. I really recommend the tour !! Also, we have some small rain and fog when we went but it gave an autumnal atmosphere which was also very beautiful.

Disappointing - Very tiring route... for a disappointing arrival at the ponds (place stormed difficult to relax and take a bath in peace)
