Guide and organization 10+, then the blow of C... Sun Full without wind - Wonderful experience well beyond my wildest expectations. The guide, Anka, a girl rep. Czech who has been living in Iceland since 2011 was very good. Not intrusive exhaustive in patient but not protracted explanations. Really good. Then what about it we had a cheeky fortune, it was sunny, there was no wind and the group was not small, it just didn't exist, it was just me and my wife. We climbed to almost under the Icefall, memorable :-) ;-) 😉

Great guide & great experience!! - our guide gerard was great! the trip overall was very easy and beginner friendly. my husband and I are not beginners but we still enjoyed learning and exploring all on and around the glacier. we even got to rent hiking books for free as you cannot wear tennis shoes, the clampons don’t fit well with them. ended the trip with some yummy hot chocolate!

Unforgettable Experience - We just returned from a trip around the ring road and we included the "Skaftafell 3 hours Easy Level Glacier Hike". Our whole trip had so many highlights but this was definitely up there. Our guide, Gerard from Barcelona, was fantastic and took very good care of everyone. He was knowledgeable and patient. The hike itself was incredible and to have to opportunity to walk on the glacier and experience it up close is a memory I will keep forever. In terms of the hike - my Garmin recorded about 4.5kms however - it also records 200m of elevation gain. Walking on the ice with crampons made most of the uphill very manageable but note that the walk up onto the glacier BEFORE you put on crampons is REALLY steep (and you have to come back down the same area too). Also - assuming its not raining or super windy, your likely going to build up some body heat on this hike so be prepared for layers, at times we were really warm! No complaints overall - the crew at Troll.is are brilliant. The Hof meeting point DOES have 2 bathrooms too.

Excellent glacier tour for a family with kids - My family (kids age 14 and 11) did the 3-hour glacier hike in early July. The tour was well organized and a great hike for everyone! Our guide was knowledgeable and made sure that everyone was able to hike at the right pace, take pictures, and provide information on the glacier and the area in general. It is easy to find right off the ring road. We did a 3pm tour which was a great time of day for the scenery and then were able to drive to our hotel just west of Vik and arrive at dinner time. The hike goes pretty high up the glacier to the point that you don't feel like you are just walking along the base, but actually get a very complete experience. The kids even got to drink water running off the glacier (picture). The 3 hour tour was the perfect amount of time for our family and everything was really well run and organized. I highly recommend this tour.

THE GLACIER WITH ERIC IS THE TOP - Exciting hike in a spectacular landscape, between ice and wilderness. Our ERIC guide was exceptional: knowledgeable, passionate and always attentive to the safety of the group. if you can, ask to be accompanied by the same guide: it really makes a difference! (Unlike others I don't want to name)

3 hour tour of glacier - Hike of a glacier with a guide. We were Lucky enough to have Eric. He was a great guy who kept us entertained. We arrived to the Troll travel area, were fitted with a harness, cramp one for our boots and a helment and pick. We had a beautiful day so no need to rent water proof pants or a jacket (though they were available). Short drive to the hiking area then a 30 minute hike to the bottom of the glacier. Great exploration of the glacier then a hike back.
