Here, bridges across the river, houses with white walls and black roofs built along the stone road, and the old walking leisurely, which presents the traditional Suzhou local life. Because of its nostalgic style, Pingjiang Road becomes the symbol of Suzhou ancient city. It’s a 1.6km-long (about 1mi) narrow road along the old canal, Pingjiang River, still maintaining its ancient Chinese water town features.Many small alleys intersect Pingjiang Road.Along the alleys are many old residential areas where celebrities used to live. Nowadays they have been changed to bars, teahouses, and cafes, while still maintaining their former appearances.
