The best cooking class - This was one of our favourite experiences, and our best class after 6 months of travelling in South America. Karla and her family are so lovely, and the meals we made were delicious, we were able to taste so much of the yummy Bahian foods. Not to mention the delicious caipirinhas with local fruits we could try. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in cooking/trying the local cuisine.

A Hands-On Brazilian Feast: Great Food, Fun, and Fantastic Company - We had an amazing experience that perfectly combined great food and lots of fun. The menu was a delicious introduction to Brazilian cuisine: we made shrimp bobó and moqueca, both rich, comforting, and full of flavour. We also prepared warm, freshly baked cheese bread (pão de queijo), and finished on a sweet note with brigadeiro, one of Brazil’s most famous and loved desserts. What really made the experience special was Karla. She is extremely friendly and helpful, instantly making everyone feel at ease. Her English is excellent, and she is very knowledgeable, explaining each step clearly while sharing cultural insights along the way. The whole experience was truly hands-on, which made it engaging and fun rather than just a demonstration. We cooked, learned, laughed, and ate incredibly well. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxed, interactive, and delicious culinary experience.

Market & Cooking Tour - I loved this experience. I was fortunate enough to have a class in private for which I had booked in English but was a good excuse to practice my Portuguese instead. I recommend doing the market tour as it gives you the opportunity to discover the local food here and speak to the vendors and taste some samples. It was really special to be able prepare these dishes within her home. It was a relaxed environment for which we had plenty of time to create the dishes. They were all simple enough for me to feel confident to prepare back home, for which she provides recipes on her website. So happy I booked this tour, it has been my highlight in Salvador. 💗

Authentic home run cooking class - Super pleasant and nice experience. We learnt a lot a lot cooking with Tapioca and it was 100% gluten free which was cool as my mum is Coeliac! We met at the markets and wandered around and then had a decent drive to the house where the class is held (just under an hour). Carla spoke fluent English and answered all of our questions about the food and ingredients really clearly. This is a home run operation, not commercialised. We made lots of different dishes and left with full bellies and smiles. At the end of the class, Carla dropped us at the beach and we had a nice walk before getting an Uber home!
