Burle Marx, a versatile artist, was an avid collector of plants and art objects, with a particular emphasis on Brazilian folk art, showcased at the site where visitors can explore the seventeenth-century church he restored. Visiting the Burle Marx Site offers a unique and inspiring chance to appreciate the significance of nature conservation while viewing one of the world’s most significant collections of tropical plants. After exploring the site, the journey continues to Pedra de Guaratiba and its stunning beaches. In the 16th century, the French attempted to conquer Rio de Janeiro and chose this location to settle and advance towards the shores of Guanabara Bay. Pedra de Guaratiba is rich with stories for its visitors. The journey then follows the beaches of Grumari, Prainha, Macumba, Recreio, Barra da Tijuca, São Conrado, Leblon, and Ipanema.

An exciting day outside Rio De Janeiro - I had a wonderful and exciting day with Camilo. On the way to Sitio Burle Marx, he showed me the impressive nature and great beaches outside of Rio and we generally had a very good conversation in English. The time flew by. He knew the Sitio Burle Marx very well and also knew the employees there, who gave us lots of other tips. I felt very comfortable the whole time and can recommend the tour to everyone!

Splendid place - It was very worth it, the place is beautiful! Every Brazilian should know this wonder that unites art and nature in the same place, super recommend. Not to mention the pointed and attentive guide Camilo, telling stories and making notes about the history and geography of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Psychologist - Very important cultural space and very well presented by local guides and vocal guide. This supplemented all the explanations of the local guide, besides showing all the points of interest on the route. Very kind and attentive. Excellent tour and excellent tour guide. Congratulations. I really liked the tour to the Burle Marx site and intend to refer other people to this beautiful program.

Doctor - Excellent program.Outstanding organization since the reception of the visitors in the drive that led us to the destination, with very accurate description of the sights on the way and also on the return. During the visit to the Burle Max Site, we had very good and attentive monitors, very attentive to all the interesting points of the visit. Very interesting the landscape and the plants of the site. Maintaining the site impeccable. We were very pleased with this extremely pleasant and interesting visit.

Quick refund - Given the effects of COVID19, we had to cancel our Wowtours of Sitio Burle Marx. We greatly appreciate our communication with Camilo and the quick refund. We hope that later this year we can take the tour. Thank you for your help. I am sure that it would have been a great tour - and that it will be.

Tropical Paradise - Great tour guided by a true paradise created by landscape designer Burle Marx, with spectacular gardens and art in the middle of the Atlantic forest, the space has great organization and infrastructure.

Best travel expert in Brazil! - Camilo was fastastic! A wonderful local who tells fantastic stories about Brazil and answers all your questions. He goes at your pace and is very easy to be around. The tour was amazing and I would go back again.
Highly recommend booking with Camilo if you're looking for a personalised proper local tour!

10/10 Must Go- a perfect tour with Camilo - Visiting Sítio was a dream of mine. Camilo made it happen! And his English is great too! The tour also includes a little bag of snacks and a bottle of water. We had a good breakfast, so we saved ours till the trip back when we were hungry.
He picked us up early and got us out of the city without too many problems with Rio’s traffic. As we drive, he told us about each neighborhood we passed through, and pointed out and named the mountains we passed by. He is super knowledgeable about the area!
We arrived to Sítio early, just a bit before the first tour. The guide spoke a bit of English, but the tour was mainly in Portuguese. No problem, Camilo translated the whole thing. He’s been on the tour before, so he also ended telling us a few tidbits before the guide got to them. He also photographed the whole thing for us, and will share the pictures via google drive later.
Sítio itself it truly amazing. This is one of the few places in the world where the genius of Roberto Burle Marx is preserved and on full display. The plantings are so beautiful, bold and overwhelming. The tiles, paths, plants, water features, and buildings are all incredible. I’ve studies Burle Marx’s work, so I thought I knew what to expect. On the way back to Rio we drove through a mangrove forest and by the beaches. It was a very beautiful drive. And interesting, because Camilo added a bunch of information about everything we drove past.
There were 4 of us on the tour, and we were all amazed and super happy we went. It couldn’t have been a better experience.

Gladly more - The tour is absolutely worth seeing. Burle Marc was a visionary landscape architect and it’s great to see how he experimented as well as arranged and designed. Unfortunately, you can not go to the grounds alone and after 90 minutes of guided tour is over. The property actually covers 40 hectares, but unfortunately you can only see a small, if absolutely fantastic section. Happy more!

Burle Marx - Camilo was a wonderful guide! Very informative and helpful and accommodating. He documented our visit by taking videos and pictures. It was so nice of him. The tour of Burle Marx was nice but the mosquitos really bothered me a lot. Otherwise, beautiful place and Camilo made everything just wonderful! So glad he was our guide that day!
