Founded in the 2nd century AD, Augusta Trayana was a significant center for trade and culture, named after the Roman emperor Trajan. It was a thriving metropolis during the Roman Empire. Walk on the original streets from that era and see where the city council held its meetings. Visit the remains of a Roman house to see stunning mosaics in perfect condition and experience the lifestyle of the Roman Empire.

• Architectural Complex “Museum of Religions” - During your walk in Stara Zagora, your guide will introduce you to a unique place—the Museum of Religions. It is located in one of the oldest mosques in the Balkans, the Eski Mosque, dating back to the early 15th century. The building is one of the few that survived the Ottoman destruction of the city during the Russian-Ottoman war in 1877. The mosque is beautifully decorated, with secret paintings in the Orthodox Muslim style. It was built on top of a 10th-century Christian church, which itself was constructed over an ancient Thracian temple. This site has been spiritually significant for over two thousand years, with each culture leaving its mark, all visible in this remarkable museum.

These houses are among the best-preserved prehistoric buildings in Europe. The exhibition will transport you back to the 7th Millennium BC, and your guide will explain who these people were and how they lived. In addition to the houses, see an archaeological collection of objects related to the culture and religion of Stone Age people, discovered in the Stone Age settlements.
