We meet at the Dungeness Dock at 12:30 upon the arrival of the 11:45 ferry to Cumberland Island.
You must book the ferry ticket and entrance to Cumberland Island National Seashore SEPARATELY.
Be aware there is NOTHING to purchase once you arrive on the island.

Cumberland Island walking in the rain - Deb was our guide on this very rainy day
She came over on the ferry with us and chatted with us the entire time
So we learned some before we even arrived on the island
Thankfully, there was no thunder and lightning close enough to want us to cancel the trip
We walked around with Deb in our rain gear all day and she was a wealth of information
We did not see a whole lot of Wildlife because of the rain however, we learned a lot about the island and the families that had there
We saw a number of horses and noticed how skinny they looked
While we waited for the ferry, the rain let up a little bit, and we saw some manatees at the shoreline
Walking through the Maritime Forest, even in the rain, was very very magical
For those of you looking to learn and have an adventure we highly recommend this tour

Must do Walking Tour - I'm so glad I booked the walking tour. The guide gave us a lot of information about the families who lived there and their history. She also told us about the name and how it got the name.

Cumberland Island Walking Tour - It was extremely informative with a thorough review of the history of Cumberland Island. There was opportunity to ask questions at all times and they were completely answered. It was very hot so we stopped for water breaks and sat at picnic tables from time to time during the wonderfully detailed narrative. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable, very considerate and charming. We greatly enjoyed the tour and the time we spent with her.

Wonderful way to see the island and learn the history from a very knowledgeable guide. - Unbelievable tour of the entire Cumberland Island with detailed information by a very good guide named Jona. The island "road" is bumpy but you get to experience the entire island, seeing it's nature at its best including the various wild animals on the island.

Super tour to understand the island - Our tour guide, Ben English, was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, very pleasant and he gave us a great understanding of the island- along with some interesting stories that we you can’t find in a book! Great tour and we thank you. We highly recommend!

Excellent - We absolutely loved our Cumberland Island walking tour in the rain. ⛈️ 🤣 David is an incredible tour guide. His knowledge and presentation are beautifully done without lots of joking. Our group of 4 enjoyed the tour very much.

Cumberland Island Tour - Great walking tour that will tell you the history of the island along with the history of the structures on the island. Very informative! Deb, our guide, did a great job. We saw many of the horses on the island and a foal while we were there. April was the perfect time for a tour. We had a great, cool breeze while on the island. The ferry boat is air conditioned inside if you need cooling off after!

Challenging, educational - A remote discovery. Interesting how the Carnegies lived back then. Bring water, snacks and bug spray. The staff was a little over bearing. Similar to Hall monitors in grade school. During a brief orientaton on the island, the Forest ranger yelled directly at us only 2 bikes in the bunch, dont ride on the trails. Got it. At the Dungeon ruins a park ranger van came behind us so i moved out of the way to not get run over and he said "dont ride in the grass" I replied I moved over for you to pass. speeding trucks on the main 1 way road was a little dangerous. Outside of the Employees, It was a great visit.
