The absolute highlight of our St. Lucia trip — don't miss this! - We booked this boat trip with our two teenage boys, honestly not knowing what to expect — and it completely blew us away. This was, without question, the best day of our entire vacation. The snorkeling was incredible — colorful, clear, and the crew made sure everyone felt comfortable in the water. Then we headed to Sugar Beach, which was jaw-droppingly beautiful and saw octopus and eel while snorkeling. We had lunch at the Paradise Hotel. Lunch was perfect — fresh, delicious, and served in a beautiful setting. The staff took amazing care of us! But what really made the day was the crew — especially Rasta D and Miko. They were warm, funny, and genuinely engaged with all of us. We felt looked after, never rushed, and completely at ease. If you're visiting St. Lucia — especially with kids or teens — book this trip and ask for Rasta D and Miko. You won't regret it for a single second. 10/10. Would do it twice.

Land and Sea - This is a great trip to see the Caribbean side of the island. The boat picked us up on the beach of our resort. We made stops along the way to our destination in Soufriere where we went by taxi to the waterfall and mud bath. The lunch buffet was excellent!!

Great pics of St. Lucia but bumpy ride to get them - Pros - Skinny Jimmy took a lot pictures with our own phones for each sight that we stopped for : The Pitons view from the speedboat, mud bath, and the waterfalls. Kids had fun snorkeling at sugar beach. Cons - Late departure due to : our speedboat missing a docking permit that prevented the vessel from docking at the ferry dock that allowed 2 catamarans and another speedboat to load their passengers first even though their vessel arrived after ours, Skinny Jimmy helping other excursion passengers with directions to other boat excursions its like they had no docking attendant so our tour guide was helping everyone, also two late passengers arriving late at 9:35 AM after Jimmy went looking for them, We arrived at the dock at 8:30 AM as instructed for a 9 AM start time. We boarded the speedboat at 9:50 AM after the permit situation was settled. - Speedboat was uncomfortably bumpy, I've been on multiple speedboats so I'm used to the bumps on these type of boats, but never experienced bumps where my entire 200 lb+ body is completely lifted into the air. Seems like the captain was trying to make up for lost time. - I asked my daughter if she wanted a picture at the Marigot Bay water stop and Jimmy interrupted and asked me if I was paying attention to his tour pitch about the history and how he grew up there. Trying to get a picture of this moment with family is more important than hearing Jimmy talk, sorry Not Sorry. Tips - Mammas lunch was okay - chicken, Mac n cheese, fish, rice, salad, plantains were good but only maybe 15 bite pieces for a table of 12, no dessert. Buy your banana bread at the waterfalls stop, It was only 1 USD for a large piece and smelled so good. It's right after you enter the gates. Buy the black soap at the Sulphur Springs mud bath stop. Its available for $4 USD right outside the gate entrance , its like caravan of souvenir market shops. Try to be one of the first people to get in the mud bath and out so you have time to look for souvenirs and not have to rush back to your tour van. There is one last stop at Sugar beach for souvenirs but nothing worthwhile there to buy.

Good Tour - This was our first time doing this specific tour, we have been to St. Lucia many times and done other tours. It was a very windy day and the swells were pretty high, our captain was not that great. We are experienced boaters and there is a very specific way to speed through the waves, he did not know how to do this properly. Our ride was jarring to say the least. The other thing I did not care for was the food served for lunch, some found it okay most of us just didn't like it. It seemed to be a traditional island meal, definitely not something I would have ordered for myself if I had the option. Overall the rest of the tour was very nice, the guide was knowledgable and took very good care of us. It was a full day of seeing most of what the island has to offer. I would recommend this tour, just be aware that if there are large swells it will be a bumpy ride!

Dos and donts - Good overall, slimmy jimmy was our tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the island. Do not put sulfur on your hair! Please wear your sandals at the end of the tour when you go to the beach, the rocks are unforgiving.

Rough ride but still had lots of fun! - My family and I recently booked a tour with Julian Boat Tours, and while parts of the day were really enjoyable, there were also some issues that made the experience less comfortable than we hoped. To start, our tour began late because the speedboat had to dock due to a missing inspection sticker. Delays happen, but it wasn’t the best first impression. Once we finally left, the speedboat ride itself was honestly pretty frightening. I’ve been on speedboats before and never felt as uncomfortable as I did on this one. The waves weren’t even bad that day, but the ride felt very rough and aggressive. I can’t remember the driver’s name, but I believe our guide was named Skinny. He did show us where he grew up, which was interesting, although at one point he shushed someone in our group so everyone could hear his story. Other than that moment, he was generally nice. However, he wasn’t very attentive. For example, when we were asked if we wanted drinks, I was the first to ask for water but somehow everyone else was served before me. Once we reached our destination, things improved a lot and I actually had a great time. We first visited the springs because Skinny said the mud baths would be crowded, then we went to the mud baths afterward. He offered to take pictures for everyone using our own phones, which was kind, but unfortunately most of the photos didn’t turn out very well. We did manage to get a couple of good ones though. After that we went to Mama’s House for lunch. The food was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of the day. There were about 12 people in our group and the meal was served buffet-style, but it felt like there wasn’t quite enough food prepared for a group our size. Thankfully everyone was considerate and made sure each person got a decent portion. There also wasn’t dessert served. That didn’t bother me personally, but my dad was a little disappointed. Our last stop was Sugar Beach, which is absolutely beautiful. There’s a designated swimming area and a snorkeling area. However, the snorkeling gear only included masks and snorkels—no flippers—and the snorkeling area is quite rocky. We also weren’t offered our shoes when we got off the boat, which would have helped a lot with the rocks. On the ride back, Skinny served rum punch, but I noticed another passenger was overlooked and wasn’t served any until his wife shared hers with him. The return ride was unfortunately just as uncomfortable as the first. The driver appeared to be racing other speedboats, which made the ride feel unsafe and had everyone holding on for dear life. Despite the rough boat rides, I genuinely had an amazing time at the destinations themselves. The scenery, mud baths, and lunch were great. Maybe it was just an off day for the crew, but I do wish the ride had felt safer and that the service had been a bit more attentive.
