A Sweet Start to Our St. Lucia Adventure

Our family trip to St. Lucia was already off to a fantastic start when we stumbled upon the delightful Hot Chocolate Tours on the beach. Mitch, affectionately known as “Hot Chocolate,” approached us with a warm smile and a promise of an unforgettable island tour. Our first stop was the banana plantation, where we were introduced to the wonders of banana ketchup and banana BBQ sauce. Who knew bananas could be so versatile? The kids were fascinated, and I must admit, I was too! Sweet Chocolate’s enthusiasm was contagious, and she even showed us how to open almond pods to extract the seeds, a fun little activity that kept the kids entertained.

Next, we headed to the famous Sulphur Springs for a mud bath experience. I was grateful for our small group size as we watched larger groups struggle to navigate the crowded area. Sweet Chocolate was a pro at managing the pace, ensuring we had ample time to enjoy each attraction without feeling rushed. Her protective nature shone through when she gently but firmly dealt with some overly persistent local sellers, making us feel safe and well-cared for.

A Taste of Authentic St. Lucia

Lunch was a delightful affair, featuring authentic local dishes that tantalized our taste buds. It was a wonderful opportunity to sit back, relax, and soak in the vibrant culture of St. Lucia. Sweet Chocolate’s stories about the island’s history and traditions added an extra layer of richness to the meal.

Our final stop was Marigot Bay, a picturesque location that has been the backdrop for many films, including “Doctor Doolittle.” The kids were thrilled to recognize the setting from the movie, and we took plenty of photos to capture the moment.
