Best tour in St Augustine - I have taken tours in multiple cities. This was hands down the best food and wine tour I have ever done. Garry was an excellent guide providing the perfect balance between color and historical information! If you do one thing in St. Augustine this tour should be it.

Just don’t! - I really wanted to love this tour because there were many positives. The food was delicious, the wine pairings were excellent, and every restaurant we visited was unique and worth experiencing. Gary also shared some interesting historical facts about St. Augustine, and I enjoyed those parts. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by Gary’s behavior, and I would not recommend this tour. Throughout the tour, he spent most of the time talking about himself and telling personal stories rather than focusing on the city or the food. It felt like he was following a script, and whenever someone asked a question outside of it, he seemed thrown off. I also found it very uncomfortable that he was constantly touching people’s arms while talking. In addition, he would occasionally pick at or eat from guests’ food, which felt inappropriate. One moment that really bothered me happened at the barbecue stop. He handed us our meals but kept the mashed potatoes, saying, “This is my lunch.” Later, I realized the mashed potatoes were actually part of our meal, not his. The restaurants themselves were fantastic, and I have nothing negative to say about the food or drinks. However, for $160 per person, I expected a much more professional experience. If this tour cost around $60, I might feel differently, but at its current price, it simply isn’t worth it. Another uncomfortable situation happened when Gary suggested we stop somewhere for a shot because of the heat. He told us we would have to pay for it ourselves, which was completely fine. However, when I was paying the bill (about $21), I selected a 15% tip. Gary immediately stopped me, pointed at the 20% option, and said, “That’s better.” I don’t appreciate being told how much I should tip, and I certainly don’t like someone I don’t know directing how I spend my money. Finally, after the tour ended, he left us at the dessert restaurant but didn’t actually leave. Instead, he waited at the table until we wrote our reviews and tipped him. I found that extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Reviews and gratuities should be voluntary, not something guests feel pressured into providing while the guide is standing over them. It’s unfortunate because the restaurants, food, and wine were genuinely excellent. The concept of the tour is great. However, the guide’s behavior made what could have been a wonderful experience feel awkward from beginning to end. I cannot recommend this tour.
