• Cordova Street - Once the western boundary of the historic Spanish settlement, this notable street stretches nearly the entire length of historic St. Augustine. It is the perfect starting point for an exciting afternoon of delightful whiskeys and local cuisine.
• Old City Gates - These gates, part of the original city fortifications, were last reconstructed in 1808. They represent one of the earliest historic preservation efforts, having been saved from demolition in 1906.
• Saint George Street - Serving as the city’s main artery, St. George Street in St. Augustine is a pedestrian-only thoroughfare filled with restaurants, shops, attractions, and rich history.
• St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine - This shrine, an institution of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, honors the first Greek colony in America, established in 1768. It features exhibits on the early Greek settlers and the growth of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, along with the St. Photios Chapel.
• Castillo de San Marcos National Monument - As we walk along the waterfront, we will discuss the oldest masonry fort still standing in the continental United States.
• Charlotte Street - Part of St. Augustine’s original historic grid, this charming side street is home to one of our exceptional whiskey tasting partners.
• Plaza de la Constitución - Located at the heart of our historic city, the Plaza de la Constitución has been a central point since the grid system was established in 1598.
• Flagler College - On our way to the next whiskey stop, we will pass by and delve into the history of the former Ponce de Leon Hotel, a luxury hotel built by millionaire developer and Standard Oil co-founder Henry M. Flagler, completed in 1888.
• Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine - Completed in 1797, this cathedral is home to the oldest Christian congregation in the contiguous United States.
• Spanish Military Hospital Museum - This museum in St. Augustine showcases exhibits on colonial medicine and the broader history of the Second Spanish Period (1784-1821). It is located on the site of a colonial-era hospital, reflecting Florida’s history.
• Trinity Episcopal Parish - Founded in 1821, shortly after Florida became a U.S. territory, Trinity Parish in St. Augustine has a rich history.
