Dominated by the ancient Minneriya Wewa, the park has plenty of scrub, forest and wetlands in its 88.9 sq km to also provide shelter for toque macaques, sambar deer, buffalo, crocodiles and leopards (the latter are very rarely seen, however).
There are rarer animals for groups to spot in the park, such as the Sri Lankan leopard and Sri Lankan sloth bear, however both are elusive and more difficult to see. Conditions in the park provide a well-suited habitat for up to 160 bird species, including water birds such as pelicans, storks and herons.

Amazing - Sudath was the best guide ever. He was searching all the animals possible for us and being so nice making the Safari so enjoyable. 100% recomendable.

Amazing jeep safari trip in Kaudulla National Park - Excellent jeep safri experience in Kaudulla National Park,with amazing spots to see elephants troupes and wild birds.
Sudath was so kind and funny, and the most important is his instinct to cach animals once on the trees... he stop on the spot and give all needed information with extra sense of humour.... I strongly recommend him for any jeep safari in Srilanka

And I was able to respond quickly and appropriately, so I felt safe overseas. - I asked this company for a private safari. If you keep in touch with them via watsapp, their response will be quick and appropriate.
The safari took more than three hours to get around and we met many elephant groups. You can see it more closely than Kenya, if only in elephants.

Great Safari with a great guide! - The Safari with Sudath was amazing, we saw a lot of animals. Especially elephants. He knew where to go and when to go, while being very nice and he showed us all we wanted to see.

Great experience - It was such a great experience. Sunju is an excellent guide, really knowledgeable about the local fauna. We saw elephants, monkeys and a variety of birds. I absolutely recommend this tour.

Wonderful day! - We had a wonderful day on safari!
We had already been to Wilpattu, so we were keen to see elephants on this safari. And we did, baby elephants, groups of elephants and even two male elephants that started fighting.
A fantastic experience!
Sudath was very friendly and also shared interesting facts about the animals.

Lots of experiences in Sri Lanka - He's a very good guide. I signed up for the afternoon safari tour. He knows what time to start,where the elephant herd is. I didn't expect to see so many elephants up close!
When we came back, there was a Jeep traffic jam at the entrance. I was able to look at the elephants leisurely in the few jeep around me.
I also asked for a morning guide on the same day for an extra 25 dollars. He picked me up at the hotel at 4:30in the morning to climb the Sigiriya,Pidurangala ,Dambulla
temple,Economic dedicated center and local market. He took all of my requests and added more. He really made my day. I think it's more reasonable than other tours. I recommend it.

An Sri Lankan experience I’ll never forget - This was truly an unforgettable experience. It started with thinking I was on a shared tour and ended up being just myself. Sunju was very generous and purchased water, soft drink and even stopped for some roadside Guava. He was an incredibly knowledgeable guide who took the time to point out lots of different animals in the park and spend time searching for the elephants and giving us lots of time to watch and enjoy them. He knew which park would have less jeeps and therefore the experience felt even more authentic and enjoyable.
I searched for lots of tours before coming across this one and I’m so glad I booked it. Not only is it incredible value for money but you don’t feel rushed and there is a huge level of respect for the animals, not getting to close and being patient- whereas some other tours you saw got too close and scared the elephants away.
I will absolutely be recommending this tour to anyone else I know who visits Sigiriya. Thank you so much for a once in a lifetime experience ☺️
