Brilliant safari & fantastic experience - We had a fantastic time on this safari. Our driver Su was brilliant - he clearly had years of experience and knew where to expertly place the jeep to give us the best views. Our group decided for Su to not follow the other drivers and it paid dividends - as we were first to see a group of 3 leopards up close, 2 sloth bears and numerous groups of elephants - the latter, just us by ourselves. Su was great - big thanks to him!

Once in a lifetime - Once in a lifetime experience! Su did an amazing job making sure we saw every animal including leopards and the bear! Highly recommended doing the full day 12 hours as it can take awhile to find the animals (they don’t have trackers). We were 4 ft away from the leopard which is a very rare experience. We were picked up from Hilton Yala which was very close! The hotel was charging $1500 for 3 hours but so glad we booked this experience instead.

Unforgettable experience! - We had the most incredible safari with Janaka Safari! Our driver, Su, made sure we got to the park early so we could be near the front of the queue, and made sure we were first out after lunch. This meant we were the first to arrive at a leopard sighting close to the road, where we were able to observe three leopards close up! Of course, a big part of this was luck, but Su's expertise and dedication ensured we had the best spot to watch the leopards from! Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Greatest tour! Awesome Guide! - The full day tour was amazing. Make sure you book the full day tour! This increases the chances to see Leopards, Elephants and sloth bears! Especially after Lunchtime, you will have 1h before all the afternoon tourists enter the park. In that time we were almost by ourselves and even saw 3 Leopards very close by! Everything was really thought through and our Guide Su was the best! He is very experienced and made sure that we did not have many other jeeps around us. He also made sure that we were the first in line to enter the park and also the first jeep after the lunch break. He was really enthusiastic about making it a great experience! The communication was very good and he asked us, what we wanted to do or see. In total we saw 4 Leopards, around 20 Elephants (most very close by), 2 Slots Bears and a lot of different animals (Buffalos, Birds etc.). The tour was definitely worth the money.

An Unforgettable Jeep Safari Experience! - We had the most amazing time on our jeep safari today! Our driver and tour guide, Su, was absolutely incredible — skilled, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the wildlife. Thanks to Su’s sharp eyes and expertise, we were lucky enough to spot a wide variety of animals — including three leopards! It was truly breathtaking. We also learned so much about the local ecosystem and animal behavior along the way. This experience exceeded all expectations and will stay with us forever. Highly recommended for any nature or adventure lover!

AMAZING experience with Sasanka! - Was really nice, we saw a lot of animals but sadly no leopard. They can’t control it tho, our driver was giving everything to show us as many animals as possible! Highly recommend

Janika did not disappoint! - We had an amazing day with Janaka Safaris! Our driver, Su, was excellent. He worked so hard to get us to as many animals as possible and it did not disappoint. We saw crocodiles, water buffalo, monkeys, mongoose, deer, and 2 of the “Big 3” - the leopards (multiple viewings) and the very elusive sloth bear (2 separate bears - one we came across when there were no other jeeps around). Su was in regular communication with his colleagues and if an animal was spotted he got us there as quickly as possible. All expectations were exceeded - we were picked up at our hotel gate, breakfast, lunch, and plenty of water were provided, and we stayed in the park until the last possible minute (literally). Su has been driving since 2005 and he knows what he is doing. Book directly with Janaka to ensure you have a great experience!

Great tour, knowledgable guide - We had a full day safari today with our guide Su and it was brilliant! He was extremely knowledgable about all of the animals and drove around the park with caution and respect for all the animals that we saw. We saw bears, leopards, elephants and more and felt like we were in good hands for the whole day.

Private Vs Group experience - I had a memorable safari experience, thanks in large part to our passionate and knowledgeable local guide Darshana. The authentic Sri Lankan food and personal touches added great value. However, there were areas for improvement—specifically, clearer communication about private vs. group tours, more efficient pick-up scheduling, and enhanced food presentation. With these adjustments, the tour could be truly exceptional.

We were delighted with... - We were delighted with this tour and the skill and knowledge of our driver / guide. He has worked in the National park for 16 years and had a wealth of experience of the animals. At one stage we were one of the first to see a leopard as he heard a warning call from a deer and had the knowledge to know that the call was to raise the alarm to the other dear that danger was close by and followed the call to find the leopard. Highly recommend.
