The journey starts on a kayak from Spotorno beach, paddling towards Bergeggi Island, a small limestone rock cone covered in Mediterranean scrub, located just 250 meters from the shore. This island is home to a diverse range of terrestrial-maritime flora, including some species unique to Liguria.
From the island, the journey continues along the cliffs, small inlets, and caves of the area. With a mask and snorkel, participants can enjoy snorkeling to admire the coral seabed and Posidonia oceanica meadows.

As the journey to the island begins, so does the monitoring activity: the guide provides participants with tablets to record the species observed. Participants will examine the rocks to identify key algae species, assessing the ecological quality of the coast, and will focus on spotting and counting the two primary species of sea urchins, vital architects of our ecosystem.
This excursion offers a chance to explore a site abundant in biodiversity, history, and legend. It is an opportunity to appreciate the area’s beauty while contributing to its preservation through species knowledge and monitoring.
