Two cities, one great guide - We took the tour of Split and Diocletian's Palace with guide Anteo. It was a fascinating look into a 3rd century AD town filled with shops, restaurants, and historical relics. After touring Split, we had free time to grab lunch on the harbor before meeting Anteo at the van for the drive to Trogir. There, he gave us another informative tour of an even older walled town (2nd century AD). We really enjoyed our day with Anteo-he did a great job, especially as a history major in college-he shared so much information and we learned a lot.

Our guide was very... - Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny, too! He was able to respond to fairly specific questions asked by members of the group with no trouble. The tour of Diocletian's palace was really interesting! Could have used a little more time in Trogir, but otherwise, an excellent tour!

We had a tour guide... - We had a tour guide Slavko. He was excellent in knowlege and loved his country. Our group of 6. Loved his history and answered all our questions. He was so entertaining too. I can’t say enough about him and his love of split. We came from a cruise ship and his tour was our favorite. I learned so much of his country

We visited Trogir first... - We visited Trogir first which was beautiful. We got to spend time there but not as long as I would have liked. Then we moved on to Split. We got a very good walking tour of the city and then more free time. We then were able to walk back to the ship so we could spend as much time as we wanted.

The tour is divided into two parts... - The tour is divided into two very similar parts. The first part is a tour of the old town of Split explained by the guide. The second part, after a vehicle transfer, is a tour of the old town of Trogir explained by the guide, followed by an hour of free time. The hour of free time feels short if you want to eat something in a restaurant; it is sufficient if you eat something quick while exploring at the same time. The return is to Split, to the same meeting place.

Diocletian vs Jesus, Trogir vs everybody and nobody hates almond desert raviolis - modest walking, bring light rain gear “just in case”. Museums will require their own dedicated time. Frane was a great guide for the Emperor’s retirement home, and Karen did a super job for Trogir. Split portion was a straight-through walk, Trogir had 60-90 minutes of chill time after the guided portion. A six hour, very worthwhile introduction to this part of Dalmatia!
