History professor and seasoned local guide initiating a novel city tour. While exploring Diocletian’s palace is amazing, discovering the Palace, Medieval and modern Split ups the experience! Immerse in the roman Palace’s history and embark on an exploration of Split’s center, thick with influences from Venice, the Ottomans, and Napoleon. Included are Game of Thrones filming spots, intriguing trivia, a smattering of local lore and lifestyle. The tour commences from the Riva promenade, leading through the cellars and culminating at the prominent ancient square which offers sweeping views of the Cathedral and medieval palaces. En route to the Silver & Golden gates, we’ll traverse the world’s slimmest street. Don’t forget to touch the toe of the Gregor of Nin statue for a wish - a Split tradition! Post the Palace visit, we’ll stroll the modern main street and square, concluding at the primary medieval square. Throughout the walk, gain an array of suggestions on activities and locales in Split.
