- Riva Harbor - The Riva began to take its current form two centuries ago during the French rule under Napoleon, led by Marshal Marmont. Today, this promenade serves as the city’s living room, being the most popular and significant public space in Split. Over time, it has been expanded and renovated multiple times, yet it has always been graced with the stunning backdrop of the south facade of the Diocletian Palace, including the entrance to the Substructures. Additionally, it features buildings constructed west of the Palace, the Franciscan monastery with the church of St. Francis, the Bajamonti Dešković Palace, and the Port Authorities building on the eastern end.
- Bacvice Beach - Bacvice is a sandy beach with exceptionally soft sand, making it delightful to walk on and enter the sea. The water remains shallow even 100 meters from the shore, making it perfect for fun and water sports. Bacvice is the birthplace of the game picigin, recognized as part of UNESCO’s intangible heritage. The game involves tossing a small ball among players in shallow water, aiming to keep it airborne as long as possible. Split hosts the Picigin World Cup annually, with the Croatian team often emerging victorious.
- Sustipan - The southwest cape of Split harbor is known as Sustipan, named after a medieval monastery of St. Stephen under the pine trees, which served as a resting place for Croatian Kings. In the early 19th century, Sustipan became Split’s first cemetery, located outside the city at the time. Despite the emotional connection the citizens of Split had to this site and the artistic value of the local tombs, it was demolished by communist authorities after the new city cemetery opened. The only remaining structure is a Classicistic gloriette. Sustipan has been transformed into a beautiful park, a genuine green oasis near Marjan and the city, offering breathtaking views of the sea and islands from its cliffs.
- Marjan Park - Marjan, the hill overlooking the city, has always been a striking feature of Split’s landscape. The harmony between nature and urban life is rarely seen; on one side lies the bustling city in all its splendor, and on the other, a peninsula of nearly untouched nature.
- Kasjuni Beach - Nestled against the pine-covered foothills of the Marjan peninsula, this picturesque pebble and sand stretch offers a relaxed atmosphere. Kašuni Beach is an appealing destination for swimming and sunbathing. More serene and rural than Split’s main Bačvice Beach, it is an ideal spot for a leisurely day out. Enjoy the sun and unwind on its peaceful shores. The beach consists of fine pebbles and sand, bordered by wooded, sloping hills. Visitors can also stop in front of the beach for a swim.
