A Journey to the Stars: Our Family Adventure in Teide National Park

When I first heard about the Astronomical Observation Tour in Teide Tenerife, I knew it was an experience my family and I couldn’t miss. As a mother of three, I’m always on the lookout for activities that are both educational and fun for the kids. The promise of a magical night under one of the best skies in the world was too tempting to resist.

Our adventure began with a scenic drive through the Canarian pine forest in the Guía de Isora area. The kids were thrilled to see the lush greenery and the incredible viewpoints along the way. Sunset and Stargazing: A Night to Remember

As we arrived at the Teide National Park, the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the islands of La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma. The views were breathtaking, and I could see the awe in my children’s eyes as they took in the beauty of the landscape.

We gathered near Los Roques de Garcia, where the astronomical observation was to take place. The guide, an enthusiastic astronomer, used a laser pointer to show us the constellations and planets visible in the night sky. Although we didn’t get to use a telescope as promised, the experience was still captivating. The guide’s passion for astronomy was infectious, and my kids were full of questions, eager to learn more about the stars above.

A Taste of Canarian Cuisine

After the stargazing session, we headed to the Centro de Visitantes El Portillo for dinner. The Canarian cuisine was a delightful surprise, with a variety of dishes that pleased even the pickiest eaters in my family. However, I did notice that the drinks were limited to local wine and water, with any variations requiring an additional cost. It was a minor inconvenience, but something to keep in mind for future travelers.

Despite the few hiccups, the staff, including the driver, guide, astronomer, and restaurant personnel, were incredibly attentive and pleasant. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable for us.

In the end, our astronomical observation tour in Teide Tenerife was a memorable family adventure. It was a night filled with wonder, learning, and laughter, and I would highly recommend it to any family looking for a unique and educational experience in Spain.
