Teide = the 3rd highest volcano in the world still Active - Things to do absolutely on the island of Tenerife.
Plan to arrive before 10am to park as close as possible. Reservation required to ride the cable car to see the volcano. Plan tennis kway we are 3600 m away.
With a guide it is better more interesting and discoveries.
Don't be pregnant no baby for ace heart problems ....
And make after visiting the volcano the national park around.

Experience not to be missed! - A must to do in Tenerife!
We took the cable car at 9:30 in the morning, which I recommend to do because from 11:00 there are people, it is more difficult to park and there are many more people going up to the cable car!
When we got up there, just one word: wow! You take a lot of eyes, the scenery is incredibly beautiful. (It's cold, remember to cover yourself!) You have the possibility to take a small trail, knowing that you can only stay up there for 1 hour before going down again but it is really enough! I recommend doing it it is worth it!
Then take a walk the rest of the day in the park , and I would also recommend a short hike in Los Roques de García , a must-see point of interest! On the other hand, it is VERY complicated to park there if you do not go early, we shot at least 20 minutes before finding a place. For the price of the cable car, I find it a little expensive but it is really an experience to do!

Day trip up Mount Teide volcano - Was staying in Puerto de la Cruz; so mountain close by but a steep climb to get to on the coach - you end up above the clouds where never rains. Really stunning and on a clear day great views; cable car well worth adding as otherwise you don't get to the top. Lunch wasn't included but they did a stop at a local cafe omn the way up where you can get sandwiches and drinks.

Teide - I enjoyed the magnificent landscape of Teide National Park and I was able to climb Teide volcano. I got a lot of free time and enjoyed it at my own pace.

Buy tickets online in advance. - Here's the part nobody, not even the Fodor's guidebook, tells you (or at least nobody told us): YOU NEED TO PURCHASE CABLE CAR TICKETS IN ADVANCE, ONLINE (volcanoteide.com). So don't just show up at the cable car station, expecting to purchase a ticket and stand in line, as you can do at virtually every other similar facility around the world. All you can buy on-site is a 1-Euro ticket to use the bathroom. Once you do have a ticket, the view up-top is nice -- bring a jacket, it's cold -- but it's not really the top. If you want to climb the rest of the way to the summit and look into the volcano's crater, you need a permit for that. Only 200 are granted per day. You purchase those online too. It's only 0.6km each way, but at altitude, so you need to be in shape. Parking is at a premium, like everywhere else in the national park. Don't leave any valuables in your car -- thefts have been reported.

Good, but disappointing - Nice tour. Really nice bus.
However, they didn’t tell us until we were on the bus and moving that the cable car wasn’t running that day due to ice and winds.
He said he ‘had just found out’, but I didn’t see him take a phone call that instant. They just wanted to make sure no one canceled.
That being said, the revised tour was very nice. It was stopping at different sites on the lava floor and let us hike. But we still would have rather had the choice ourselves whether to cancel instead of being forced on the tour.

NO WRONGDOING, NEXT THING. NAIL IN THE PRICE - Hello,In the survey we received after Volcano Teide there is a missing open text question for suggestions or complaints. In my view the round trip price 46 euros per person is simply a piece of THEFT.
A family of 4 adults is forced to go for the theme that is the most famous thing in Tenerife and you take advantage. And more so by seeing the number of people who go every day.
Then the prices of drinks in the bar is another armed heist, compared to the prices that are generally on the island of Tenerife.
There's nothing that bothers me most is that they take advantage of me and my family. It is not at all justified to pay 23 euros for the first leg and 23 euros for the return per person. I'M CLEAR: SINVERGUENZAS
Greetings, Rafael Bonilla

TO ESCAPE!!!!!!!!! - A FUÏRE!!!! We lost 160 €!!!!!!!
We booked the day before seeing that the weather was ok and booking possible on the site where they were selling vacant seats. The same morning we saw on the site that the cable car was closed while the weather was ok.We thought we would be refunded without problem on our account the following days but no!!! The day we had paid to take the cable car we still came for a walk and saw that the weather was very good. If the cable car was closed it was clearly their fault, and not ours and the weather was perfect!!!
If they know the day before that the cable car will be closed you must close the possibility to buy tickets on their website!!
If you sell tickets and then the same day you close the cable car when the weather is nice and you don't refund customers it's a scam and theft!
You are purely and simply thieves!
In summary do not buy a ticket for the cable car and make the small hike Roques de Garcia (be careful parking too small though so you have to be lucky to be able to park).

Dont get scammed and pay for teide ascend and cable car - you end up losing money and a day as it is closed very often. - Feels more like a scam than a legitimate service. Three times out of three, we never got what we paid for.
The first time, the cable car didn’t operate due to wind. Fair enough — weather can be unpredictable, and we accepted that.
The second time, we bought tickets expecting to ascend and explore the surrounding peaks, which don’t require special permits. But once we got up, we were told we couldn't leave the small enclosed area due to a bit of snow. None of this was communicated beforehand. It felt like a clear case of misinformation — they sell you the ticket, make it sound like you’ll have access to more, and in the end you pay over €40 per person just to stand in a construction zone without being allowed to explore.
The third time, we paid even more for the ticket that includes access to the Teide summit. This ended up wasting nearly an entire day. The bus ride had four pointless stops on the way up, which seemed like a way to stretch the tour and make it feel like “something.” But once we arrived, the peak access was closed due to wind — again. Instead of going up, we were taken for a one-hour walk in an unremarkable area with no views. We’ve been to Teide before with our own car and know there are far more beautiful spots — this one clearly wasn’t selected for its scenery.
What’s worse is that this seems to be a known pattern. Many reviews say the same: they often know the peak access is closed or likely to close, yet they still sell the most expensive package and tell you to “go and check.” You end up spending over 5 hours on a bus, wasting a day of your holiday, and paying €50 per person for nothing of value.
The business model seems to rely on misleading advertising and upselling products they know often won’t be delivered as promised. The only protection for them is buried deep in their terms and conditions — no clear warnings during booking.
Do not buy the summit access + cable car ticket. It is essentially a scam. Instead, apply for the free summit permit and if the cable car is operating, buy that ticket separately. That way, if it’s closed due to weather, you don’t lose both your time and your money.
Read the other reviews — we are far from the only ones. Some people have paid twice and wasted two days, only to be told the peak is closed. No real refund is offered. Instead, you’re given a pointless walk as a “substitute,” so they can justify charging €50 per person for a tour with zero value.

Not worth the money - Not worth the money and time. The footpaths were closed at the cable car summit but no where on the website or cable car terminal was this explained.
We purchased the tickets thinking we’d enjoy an hour walking around the summit of the mountain as the website offers, but this wasn’t the case.
The tickets should be reduced in price when only the cable car ride is open without any walks. Although the views were ok, they certainly weren’t worth the €41 paid for the trip.
In my opinion, spend your money on a private hire boat trip, much more fun and value for money.
