• Medes Islands - The Medes Islands (Catalan: Illes Medes) form an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, comprising around seven small islands and several islets off Spain’s northeastern coast. Covering an area of about 21.5 hectares, the islands boast a rich seabed, enhanced by their proximity to the Ter River’s mouth. This feature attracts numerous researchers annually, making it one of the Mediterranean’s most significant marine reserves and the largest in Catalonia. The largest island in the group is Meda Grande, and the islands are designated as ZEPIM.

Some of the islands in this archipelago include Medallot, Small Meda, Ferrenelles, Large Tascó, Small Tascó, and Carall Bernardo.
