Impressive bike tour of Soweto with delicious lunch. - What an impressive experience our bike ride through Soweta was. Guide Sia takes us to Soweto. The bike tour is doable, a little fitness is useful. Sia is well known in the streets where we come and the children are hopeful and happy. Poverty affects us while the children are so hopeful and uninhibited. It brings tears when we cycle away again. This is an experience we will not soon forget. We understand that a visit to the street where Nelson Mandela’s house is located is part of this bike tour but for us this detracted from the bike tour because this section is hugely touristy. We'll let this piece out. Lunch was delicious and relaxed. Highly recommended this bike tour!

Our guide Teboho was... - Our guide Teboho was excellent. He told a lot about the history of Soweto and we also had time to visit the Mandela House on our own. The bikes were good and it was a great experience to explore Soweto that way. I definitely will recommend the tour.

Informative and fun - We did a morning tour with our wonderful tour guide, Thabo. We enjoyed it thoroughly - it was good exercise which was a nice change from doing a car tour and my 7year old who enjoys cycling, coped well. We felt like we had a very good view of Soweto and covered all the important history and sites.

Great bike tour! - We did a big group tour with Teboho and he was excellent! Super knowledgeable about Soweto and its history and kept us all safe as we biked through traffic. Be prepared for lots of hills, wear sunscreen, and bring a backpack if you’re wanting to buy any souvenirs along the way. Many in our group hadn’t biked in years, and we all managed well. Highly recommend this over doing a car tour!

Great way to visit Soweto - The bicycle tour of Soweto was a great way to visit this area. We learned a lot about the upheaval in 1976 and what it's like today. Enjoyed the church singing as we rode by (it was a Sunday am). The guide was experienced, friendly and interesting. Lunch as a treat (local food)!

Great way to learn history of anti-Apartheid movement - With any kind of biking or walking tour, the skill and personality of the guide makes all the difference. Thabo was excellent and a walking encyclopedia of Soweto’s history. This is definitely the best way to experience Soweto. A walking tour will not cover enough and a van tour is too weird. The lunch that was included was “traditional” Soweto fare, but probably not palatable for Western visitors (French fries, hot dog, baloney on thick slab of bread), so bring along extra snacks.
