Setting Sail on the Pisces

The sun was just beginning to cast its golden glow over the Caribbean waters as I made my way to the Yacht Haven Grande. The anticipation of a day spent on the luxurious 47’ Leopard Catamaran, Pisces, was palpable. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but there’s something uniquely thrilling about setting sail on a catamaran, especially when it’s just you and your group. Captain AnneMarie and Darren greeted us with warm smiles, and I could tell immediately that we were in for a treat.

The Pisces was a beauty, with a spacious salon that opened onto an expansive back deck. The bow was inviting with its bean bag chairs and large trampolines, perfect for lounging and turtle watching. As we set off, the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves created a symphony that only the ocean can compose. With the JBL sound system playing our favorite tunes, we were ready for an adventure.

Snorkeling and Sea Life

Our first stop was a secluded spot near Buck Island, a place known for its vibrant marine life. As someone who has spent a lifetime chasing waves, the underwater world is a familiar yet always awe-inspiring place. Equipped with snorkeling gear provided by the crew, I dove into the crystal-clear waters. The sight of colorful fish darting around coral formations was mesmerizing.

Darren, one of our guides, was a true ocean enthusiast. He dove down 25-30 feet to capture an incredible video of a sea turtle munching on seagrass. It was a moment that perfectly encapsulated the magic of the ocean. The rest of our group, ranging in age from 8 to 76, was equally enchanted. The joy of sharing such experiences with family and friends is what makes these adventures truly unforgettable.

A Day to Remember

As the day unfolded, we sailed to various islands, each offering its own unique charm. The flexibility of having a private charter meant we could tailor the itinerary to our desires. Whether it was lounging on the deck, snorkeling, or simply soaking in the sun, there was something for everyone.

Captain AnneMarie was accommodating and ensured our day was seamless. We even had time to ride the gondola to Paradise Point for a quick lunch before returning to the catamaran. As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, we made our way back to the port. It was a day filled with laughter, exploration, and the kind of memories that linger long after the journey ends.
