Fantastic slot canyon guided tour - Visiting the Escalante area, we booked a guided tour of Dry Creek, Peekaboo and Spooky slot Canyons with Roam Outdoors, and we are super glad we did. Many positives: 1) Tyler, our guide, was excellent. He made it possible for us to do these fairly challenging slot canyon traverses. We’re a couple in our 60’s and my wife isn’t an experienced scrambler. Getting into Peekaboo is challenging, and Tyler brought a rope and provided just the right encouragement so Joan could scale the entrance. He was patient and knowledgeable. He took many great pictures for us and shared great photography tips. 2) Tyler drove us out in a cool UTV. To get to these slot canyons you have to drive 25 miles down a gravel road with plenty of washboard and the UTV could fly down the road comfortably - and kind of exciting - while driving on our Subaru would have been painful. 3) Hiring a guide made sure we didn’t get lost and were safe. We saw other people explore the slot canyons and sure it could be done - however the trails aren’t THAT well marked and people regularly get turned around. With Tyler we were sure we were on the right path and could get through the tricky spots the best way. 4) I felt Roam communicated with us well and was very professional. It just seems like a top notch operation and for us a really good value. Highly recommended!

Simply stunning - The trip started with an off with a Hella fun utv ride and a short hike to the slot canyons. Once you get there OMG... what a great adventure! Seth was our guide and we could not have made it without him. The hike is as challenging as you want. Spooky is spooky but you dont have to go end to end. We stopped at the chimneys as it was something I'd leave to young people (I'm 65). We've been to zion and bryce and this was the best hike so far. It was an adventure.

A “MUST DO”, once in a lifetime experience. - Mojo was an exceptional guide as we explored these 3 slot canyons. His patience and knowledge of navigating some tight passages made this hike possible for me and my husband. He lended a hand and sometimes a knee :) when we needed to scale some areas; we would not have been able to do without him. An incredible experience, don’t hesitate to book this excursion.

LOVE the experience and we thank Neil for it!!!! - NEIL is the guy you want/need when go on a physically challenged canyons like Peekaboo and Spooky slot canyons. Neil wears a pair of sandals and move around the narrow, deep canyon with sometimes straight up walls like a spider-man! He knows the canyons inside and out. With his precise step-by-step instructions, the group was able to move along in a safe and confident fashion through many technical and sometimes intimidating sections. It was a blast!!!! That said, we most appreciate his laid-backness and patience. During the tour, he had to attend to two of my older sisters who decided not to go through Spooky. He was able to accompany them back to a waiting location and come back to continue with the rest of the group within a short time! Truly appreciate his attentiveness!!!!!!

Thankful for this tour and not doing this on our own - Let me start with there are hundreds and maybe thousands of people who go out into this barren stretch of the desert and think these canyons are easily done. We saw many with families doing the trails with small children. They may be from more local areas, they may be more experienced adventurers. I am so incredibly grateful for the care, knowledge and security that we got from taking this tour from our guide Neil. These three canyons are over 5 miles of ups, downs, over and through some of the most narrow spaces. We did this on a day that was 93 degrees, no cloud cover. We hit some snags along the route. That’s where knowledgeable guides make the difference of you finishing and returning to safety or not. The skills and knowledge of Neil are truly unmatched. We walked into those canyons as strangers and I felt by the end of the day we had made a new friend. Along for the ride that day to learn the route was another guide T.C. He was also all about our safety and making sure that we had water and the knowledge we needed to successful meet our goal of finishing the canyons. We have great pictures, we have great stories, we have “canyon kisses”, and we have so much more respect for the desert and the skills it takes to enjoy it safely. I highly recommend this tour, this guide for anyone who wants to experience this. Pack a TON of water if you’re going on a hot, cloudless day and even if it’s perfect conditions. We felt so accomplished and proud of ourselves for finishing it even if we weren’t the most graceful about it all the way through!

An unforgettable adventure — request Neil! - Our guide, Neil, made our slot canyon hike hands down the most amazing and memorable experience of our trip! And that includes a week of back-to-back remarkable hikes in the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and the Narrows at Zion. You do need a guide to help you navigate the stunning but tricky terrain — and Neil was absolutely phenomenal at knowledgeably directing us as we climbed up, over, under and around the challenging crevices. I highly recommend this tour and would specifically request Neil!

Need to be in good... - Need to be in good condition. Deep sand to walk through and many spots in the canyons you had to maneuver over boulders by pulling yourself up. We did it but it was a struggle. The canyons were awesome and were we’re glad we did it.

Spooky tour - This tour was a good hike but a bit misleading. There was climbing involved that many cannot do. There is also a real size restriction that in my opinion should have been better publicized.
