Do this if you can - This is a wonderful visual, cultural and spiritual experience. The ride to the campsite is fun and comes with lots of interesting information and insights. The campsite is in a wonderful location with beautiful views of the all of Monument Valley. Sean took wonderful care of us. He set up camp, including the tents, cooked a wonderful steak dinner, and told us so much about Navajo history and culture. And the version we all thought we knew turned to be far from the truth. The view of the stars was awesome, and we even got to see the Northern Lights (who would have thought). Our view of late evening light and sunrise in the valley was breathtaking. Breakfast was filling. The ride back was different and included some great surprises. Not cheap, but worth every penny. And everyone involved was a pleasure to deal with. Couldn't recommend more heartily.

- Wow. What a view! Toney Begay picked us up at the View Hotel and took us up the rock crawling back side of the Hunt’s Mesa. Quite a trip and not for people who are not adventurous. It is quite a challenge and Toney and his Chevy Suburban made it look easy. Great sunset views and pics while he cooked a delicious steak, baked potato, corn on the cob, on an open flame with Pinion flavored fire, and delicious Navaho tea. My wife got some sleep in the tent and cot while I stayed up to shoot the stars. The overnight sky was amazing. Clear and dark as we planned it on a new moon. The morning sunrise from Tom Till point was everything it was billed to be. You can see from Colorado to Utah. The morning light was fantastic but there was some smoke from distant fires, two weeks before the devastating Grand Canyon North Rim fire. In summary we highly recommend Toney Begay and Monument Valley Safari overnight on Hunt’s Mesa.

BOOK THE TOUR! - This tour was absolutely amazing and is something that I will always remember. Tony is an amazing guide and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was accommodating in every way. His skill level to drive up to Hunts Mesa was impeccable and I felt safe the entire time. It is a bit of scary drive in some parts. He cooked dinner and breakfast. He showed us the best spots to watch the sunrise and the best spot to take photos. He shared stories and history about the area. The environment is so surreal and far away from the crowds where you can enjoy the peace and quiet overlooking monument valley. Worth every penny. BOOK THE TOUR!!

Photography outing - Wonderful trip, had the whole mesa to ourselves. Pleasant guide who took care of everything. He had great knowledge of the area and shared that information, but also gave us our space to enjoy the wonderful spot.

Hunt's Mesa Monument Valley Overnight Amazing Experience - On May 26th, we did the Hunt's Mesa overnight. What an experience. This was our second tour with Monument Valley Safari, and we had the chance to be with our original guide, Toney Begay. But there was a bonus to the trip. We got to drive with Toney's nephew "Ti" who turned out to be just as knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining as his Uncle.
One cannot do justice to describe the views from atop the mesa. One has to experience it. I would highly recommend this overnight tour for those who genuinely want to experience the best of Monument Valley

A dream come true trip! Thank you MV Safaris - Tony our guide was outstanding! - Wanted to do this trip for decades. Settled on MV Safaris because of reviews including quality of food for dinner and breakfast. Not disappointed! Tony our Navajo guide exceeded all expectations! Outstanding driver on the off road trail to the summit - another company’s vehicle got stuck! Knowledgeable about his indigenous history both in traditional beliefs and in modern land bridge human migrations theories from Central Asia. Sharing stories of being raised by his grandmother with traditional beliefs. He worked tirelessly for us - advising on photo locations, setting up camp including manually pumping up the sumptuous double air mattresses and then cooking a full dinner over campfire. Same in the morning up before sunrise cooking full breakfast and brewing “kick butt” cowboy coffee. Impressed by how he broke camp and removed all garbage apart from uneaten strawberries. A large raven appeared and waited patiently for our departure! One regret - not long enough to be in that location with this wonderful human being. Thank you Tony! 🙏

Great for photographers! - It was a fantastic experience. Our guide was terrific. As a photographer, I was looking for unique perspectives of Monument Valley and he showed us an incredible vantage point for both sunset and the next morning's sunrise. There were three of us in the group. The sleeping accommodations were basic with a large tent and really worm sleeping bags, totally adequate for the one night we were there. We ate like kings with a full steak dinner (cooked to perfection over the fire pit) and eggs and sausage for breakfast. Excellent camp coffee as well. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are a photographer.

What a landscape! - We are French Tourists and have spent one night at Hunts Mesa under tent camping with Toney. We did not imagine the amazing landscape above Monument Valley at sunset and sunrise. After the sunset, what a night under a fantastic sky with Milky-Way, a bbq around a fire, songs and tales of Navajo Nation then under camping tent. The same emotion the next early morning with sunrise. It has been a fantastic moment in our life. The course in 4X4 to Hunts Mesa is very spectacular, up and down rocks and sand. Impossible to guess where the good way could be. Tony is a skilful driver who knows every hill and dale.
One suggestion to complete this moment: Toney, please think about indicating the place of restrooms when arriving at the campground before the night!

Highlight of our trip!!!! - Where to begin? Well, the off-roading is very bouncy and a bit scary in parts. It caught us a bit off guard, it is very exhilarating. Don’t do this if you have back problems. But our driver and guides were just brilliant. You feel totally safe with them.
The sunset view was wonderful. We were dropped off there for a few hours while our meals were being cooked on a fire back at camp.
Sitting by the fire and chatting with our guides was wonderful. They’re so friendly and relaxed and I learned a lot about the culture.
The sleeping bags are SO comfortable! I was worried I wouldn’t get a good night’s sleep but i had one of the best in that little tent! My only minor complaint was there weren’t any pillows provided, but I just used my jacket rolled up.
In the night at about 1am the clouds finally cleared and I even managed to get some astrophotography done. This trip is a photographer’s dream.
Sunrise was spectacular. Like jaw dropping. I can’t get over it. We had ample hours to take it all in. Everything is just so silent. So peaceful. Until the sun gets to a certain height and the birds start to sing. It’s incredible.
Then there was another hair-raising drive down, which takes I think two hours each way? The way down was even more fun, sliding down sand dunes and skidding in sand.
If you get the chance to do this trip absolute do it. You’ll be seeing everything away from commercialism and just how it was intended.
