Horses would only walk single file for the most part, rooted against the bit when asked to do anything besides walk in a line behind the horse in front of you. No offer to trot or lope by the ocean…we could have asked so that was not totally on the guide… not told In the beginning that we could bring our own camera for them to take pics of us until we were on the horses. Our guide was a total sweetheart tho, he did a good job. Chatted well and was very nice! Noticed my saddle pad was tightly pressed against the withers and not tented up for wither relief.. i should have asked for them to fix it. I know when they saddle 40 horses this can get missed but it would be better for the horses. Satisfied with the ride… always have wanted to ride by the ocean, thank you for that opportunity. I pray th horses are well cared for, our day was beautiful and 72.. I feel for terrible for them and the staff in a Texas summer at 114…

We enjoyed our private ride, the employees were all nice and friendly, check in was easy, got to feed some animals, Lupe our instructor on the tour did a fantastic job by explaining everything, very knowledgeable and friendly.

William was so awesome! He went above and beyond and made sure to give us such a great experience!

My girlfriend Kyla and I booked a private horseback riding tour in South Padre Island, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Having the tour all to ourselves made the experience so much more relaxing and personal just the two of us enjoying the beach, the horses, and the quiet. Our host, William, was incredible. From the moment we arrived, he made sure Kyla and I felt safe, comfortable, and taken care of. He matched us with the perfect horses, walked us through everything we needed to know, and checked in throughout the ride to make sure we were both enjoying ourselves. His patience, professionalism, and hospitality really stood out. The horses were well trained, the views were stunning, and the private setup made the whole experience feel special almost like a getaway within a getaway. Kyla and I both agreed the private tour is absolutely worth it over a group ride. Huge thank you to William for giving us such a memorable experience. We’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting South Padre!

My husband and I had an amazing private morning ride on the beach with Shiner and Clyde. Luke was the best guide and suggested other rides to us when we come back. 10/10 definitely recommend!! Worth every penny! Thank you, SPIAP for making our anniversary so special!!

Overall experience was great, weather played a factor which limited the experience. Tour guide was great and we would come back again hopefully under better weather conditions.
