• Emerald Bay State Park - Emerald Bay is the second most photographed location in the United States. It’s a stunning destination. During winter, it may close due to avalanches, but for most of the year, Around Tahoe Tours ensures visitors experience the best of Emerald Bay. • Homewood - The Oscar-winning film “The Godfather Part II” was filmed on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. The mafia frequently visited Lake Tahoe, drawn by the casinos in Reno and the North Shore. Wherever there was money, they were present. Additionally, the lake’s depth is notable. Just ask Fredo.
• Meeks Bay Beach - This is a seasonal stop, open from May 15th to October 15th. It features a charming white sand beach, ideal for swimming in Lake Tahoe. The area offers a delightful resort with cabins and houses for rent, as well as RV and tent camping. A general store and clean restrooms are available.
• Tahoe City - Visitors park at the Tahoe City Visitor Center and walk to Fanny Bridge. Below the Tahoe City Dam, one can observe large and beautiful Rainbow and Brown Trout. This is where the Truckee River flows out of Lake Tahoe. The dam, standing only 6 feet tall, is designed to facilitate water flow rather than retain it.
• Carnelian Bay - This is a fantastic stop at the renowned Gar Wood’s Restaurant and Bar. Enjoy a “Wet Woody” and stroll along the pier. Capture stunning photographs and appreciate the clarity of the water. In summer, observe the Woody boats on the lake, including Gar Woods, Chris-Crafts, Rivas, and Hackers—beautiful vintage wooden boats.
• Sand Harbor - Around Tahoe Tours visits the most picturesque spot in Lake Tahoe, Sand Harbor State Park, Nevada. It features massive boulders surrounded by vibrant blue hues, creating a tropical feel at times. It’s an excellent location for swimming, rich in history, and arguably the best stop.
