Transfer from Cape Town to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve
Cape Town - Guests will be collected from their accommodation in Cape Town and surrounding areas at 8:00 am to travel to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. It is essential to arrive at the Welcome Lounge at Sanbona by 12:00 pm, with a travel time of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. The journey will take you along the N1 through the Du Toit’s Kloof tunnel, joining the picturesque Route 62, passing through the towns of Robertson, Ashton, and Montagu, before reaching Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Route 62 is renowned as the longest Wine Route in the world.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve - Upon arrival at the Welcome Lounge at 12:00 pm, guests will be offered a refreshment before being transferred to their Game Lodge at Sanbona. Lunch will be served in the dining room, followed by check-in at the accommodation. In the evening, guests will enjoy a game drive, witnessing the stunning sunset over the Little Karoo. Game drives last 3 to 3.5 hours and are conducted by a qualified game ranger in a comfortable open Landcruiser 4x4 Truck. During the drive, guests can observe a variety of plants, animals, big game, and birds. Upon returning, pre-dinner drinks and a delightful dinner will be served at the lodge before retiring for the night.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is a private reserve and differs from larger safaris like Kruger National Park. Private Wildlife or Game Reserves have restrictions on the number of animals they can maintain on their game farm.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve to Cape Town
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve - Guests will enjoy an early morning breakfast followed by a 3-hour game drive. After the final game drive, departure from the Game Lodge at Sanbona will occur in the late morning, with arrival back at the Welcome Lounge around midday. The tour guide/driver will be ready at the Lounge to transfer guests back to Cape Town.
Cape Town - On the return journey to Cape Town, the route will follow the R62, and guests are welcome to stop for wine tastings or lunch at any of the numerous wine estates along the way in Ashton, Robertson, or Montague. The travel time back to Cape Town is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, depending on any desired stops along the route.
