Hluhluwe Game Reserve - Departure from Durban is scheduled for 6am, heading towards Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. Upon arrival, approximately 3 hours later, participants will embark on a thrilling 4x4 Game Drive. An experienced guide will share the rich history of Hluhluwe and introduce the diverse wildlife, including Africa’s Big 5.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve is nestled in the heart of Zululand, where Africa’s Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhinoceros) thrive in the lush savannah. Established in 1895, it is South Africa’s oldest park, covering over 98,000 hectares of stunning African landscape.

St Lucia - Following the game drive, a lunch break is planned. Afterward, there is an opportunity for self-guided drives within the reserve. In the late afternoon, the journey continues to St Lucia, located about 45 minutes away.

St Lucia is a town within the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park area, renowned for hippo sightings. As a world heritage site, it boasts diverse ecosystems from wetlands to savannah grasslands, teeming with wildlife. It is one of South Africa’s most picturesque regions, where the group will spend two nights.

After breakfast, enjoy a 2-hour Hippo and Croc Boat Cruise.

Saint Lucia Estuary - Post-breakfast, a 2-hour Hippo & Croc Boat Cruise in the St Lucia Estuary awaits.

This thrilling excursion allows participants to discover, witness, and observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, and numerous bird species. The 2-hour Boat Cruise Safari offers close encounters with the estuary’s inhabitants.

Guided by knowledgeable rangers, participants will gain fascinating insights into the lives of crocs and hippos. The rangers are eager to answer questions and provide incredible facts about the area.

iSimangaliso Wetland Park - After the boat cruise, a lunch break is scheduled. The adventure continues with a self-drive game drive in the DukuDuku area of iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, offering opportunities to spot elephants, kudu, giraffe, zebra, and more.

Day 3 marks the final day with a game drive at the Cape Vidal section of iSimangaliso Wetlands Park

iSimangaliso Wetland Park - As a world heritage site, iSimangaliso Wetlands Park offers abundant attractions. One highlight is Cape Vidal, where the game drive takes place.
Cape Vidal combines the best of both worlds - located on the stunning Zululand coast with its rich marine life, and providing direct access to the Eastern Shores Nature Reserve, home to elephants, rhinos, buffalo, crocodiles, hippos, and reedbuck, among others.
The beach and offshore areas at Cape Vidal are part of the St Lucia Marine Reserve, visited seasonally by migrating humpback whales. Other marine “big game” includes whale sharks, marlin, sailfish, and dolphins.
Cape Vidal is situated on the edge of the St Lucia Marine Reserve, extending from 1 km south of Cape Vidal to the Mozambique border, and three nautical miles out to sea. Six loop roads off the main St Lucia to Cape Vidal road offer excellent game viewing and bird watching.

In the late afternoon, the group returns to Durban.
