• Pompeii Archaeological Park - The ruins of Pompeii form an extensive archaeological site in the southern Campania region, near the Gulf of Naples. Once a flourishing and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under layers of ash and pumice following the catastrophic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The preserved site showcases excavated streets and houses that visitors can explore freely.
• Forum - The Civil Forum was the hub of daily life in the city, housing all the main public buildings for city administration and justice, business management, and commercial activities, such as markets, along with the city’s principal places of worship.
• Tempio di Giove Capitolino - The Temple of Jupiter dominates the northern side of the Forum, with Vesuvius scenically positioned behind it. Following the establishment of the colony (80 BC), the temple underwent a significant transformation, becoming a true Capitolium with three statues of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, modeled after those in Rome’s Capitolium, placed on a high base to be visible to those passing through the Forum square.
• Macellum - The Macellum of Pompeii served as the town market where groceries were purchased. Situated northeast of the Forum, the complex was positioned away from the square to prevent overcrowding, given the large number of visitors.
• Via dell’Abbondanza - “Via dell’Abbondanza” is one of the main streets of ancient Pompeii in Campania, linking the Forum with the Amphitheatre.
• Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) - The Stabian Baths were constructed over various periods. The initial construction phase dates back to the 4th century B.C. (the gym with the trapezoid base). The baths visible today were built in the 2nd century B.C., during a major renovation of Pompeii. The spa was not only a place for bathing but also for discussing politics, battles, trials, and women, serving as the town hall for daily discussions.
• Lupanar - The Pompeii Lupanare, renowned for its erotic paintings, is one of the most famous buildings in the excavations and functioned as a brothel.
• Mount Vesuvius - Afterwards, board the transport to the entrance of Mount Vesuvius at an elevation of 1000 meters.
• Vesuvius National Park - Upon arrival with your alpine guide, ascend the crater and enjoy free time to take in the breathtaking views over the Gulf of Naples.
