Worth the trip! - Fabulous trip to see the wonders of Roman invention and engineering. Much smaller than Pompeii but much better preserved.

Fantastic trip - Fantastic tour which I would definitely do again. Travel to and from Herculaneum was in a very comfortable, air conditioned bus and was relaxing. Our guide Lorenzo was brilliant: very funny, entertaining and knowledgeable.

A short but detailed tour with an excellent guide. - Excellent tour and the guide was brilliant, warm and funny and very knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the day. A little heads up if you are staying at Grand Hotel la Pace, the bus will not pick up or drop you at the hotel, you must walk down and back up the hill for about 10 minutes. I am unsure of why as all other members of our group were dropped at their hotel gates.
Also on return from Herculaneum, the bus passed by very close to our drop off location first (within a minutes drive), but we were on the bus a further 40 minutes or so past our destination, on a round trip dropping other guests off so bear this in mind for lunch etc as we narrowly missed the end of service cut off.
The tour though really was excellent and very engaging and can thoroughly recommend our guide. He really did bring Herculaneum to life.

Great tour of historical Herculaneum. - It is awesome to see how well preserved this site is. It really gives you an insight into life there in past times.
There is a lovely museum to visit with very interesting artefacts showing the brilliant craftsmanship of the people. The jeweller is amazing and wouldn’t look out of place in modern boutiques.
There is a nice cafe, gift shop and ice cream stall.be aware that you go to the til and pay FIRST then go and get your food and drink. We wasted time in the wrong queue.

Herculaneum can be done in a few hours - Fabulous morning trip. Herculaneum is a much smaller site than Pompeii which allows you to see the most interesting parts and get a real feel for the place in a few hours. What Herculaneum lacks in size, it makes up in interesting artifacts. Unbelievably, first floors are in tact with some of the original scorched timbers. The bath house mosaics completely in tact and beautiful. Really enjoyed our morning with our guide Raphael who was very knowledgable and funny. The trip organisers were helpful and responsive.

Excellent visit - This was a very interesting and informative visit to Herculaneum and followed on from our trip to Pompeii a couple of days before.
The pick up was easy enough, although the coach wasn't already waiting there, which made us wonder if we were in the correct location. The journey was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well. It took around 1.5 hours to get to the site, but we did stop to pick up from a couple of other places too. We split into two groups when we arrived as tours apparently need to be with a maximum of 15 people - we were with Carmel, our guide from the coach, and others were introduced to another guide who we met at the entrance.
The tour with Carmel was excellent and she managed to find us some shadier spots to stop in as she explained the sights. We were able to briefly visit the boat house and the museum - both of which had amazing finds. We felt that we'd managed to see the highlights in the two hours. Much of it is amazingly well-preserved, much more so than Pompeii, and the mosaic work and paintings are quite incredible. We're so glad that we went.

Short but worthwhile trip to Herculaneum. - Our half day trip to Herculaneum was very pleasant but seemed a little rushed. Because of its size, our group was split into two and we were joined by another guide, who seemed quite knowledgeable about the excavation site but was pressed for time to join another tour. Still, we were plenty impressed with this small ancient village, how they mastered running water and created beautiful sculptures and frescoes that last to today. It was a very worthwhile trip.

Amazing place - Herculaneum was the best part along with the tour guide. Would have preferred a hotel pick as we had to get to pick up point early and then the bus came passed our hotel! Good trip though.

Easy - Easy to get bus to site abundant fancy the public train and walking after an exhausting day before at Pompeii. Guide was excellent although there were technical issues and we couldn’t use headsets so missed some information.
