Visiting Bangkok is incomplete without exploring the Grand Palace Complex, which features the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). This site is undoubtedly one of the world’s modern marvels. The expansive grounds house the most exotic Buddhist temple, and at its core is a magnificent Buddha statue, intricately carved from a single piece of jade, regarded as the most sacred and esteemed religious artifact in Thailand today.
Adjacent to this is the Grand Palace, formerly the official residence of the Kings of Siam, showcasing a blend of traditional Thai and European architectural styles. Visitors can also explore The Royal Funeral Hall and The Royal Coronation Hall. The palace spans an area of 218,400 square meters and is encircled by walls constructed in 1783, with a total length of 1,900 meters. Inside these walls are government offices, the Chapel Royal of the Emerald Buddha, and the royal residences.
