It’s addictive! - Tico’s Surf School feels like friends wanting you to get passionate about surfing. The people working there are very enthusiastic, and happy seeing you making progress. Always there for advice and support, even if one does not take any lessons. Daniel, my surfinstructor, was very patient, and explained everything thoroughly before we went into the water. He supported tremendously by correcting the position on the board, choosing the waves, and giving little push’s to make sure I could focus solely on my movements in the beginning. That way, I was able to surf shorter distances right from the start, which was such a great experience being a beginner. After the lesson, I was able to borrow the board for another 2 hours for free to continue practicing, and they were very generous, when it went on a bit longer. The second lesson I took a few days later, was at 6 am in the morning, just right after sunrise, which I loved. At some point, Daniel noticed that I was struggling and offered to stop and proceed the next day which I thought was so kind. The next session he had changed his approach in teaching. I guess every person is different in their own way and he seems to have a pretty good feeling for what one needs and took the time for this process, which I think is truly special. My plan was originally to stay in Samara for two nights only, but I extended 3 times, because I so much loved learning how to surf! 💜 Daniel definitely got me hooked, and in the process, I also learned a lot about myself. Super greatful for this experience. Thank you for that! 🌊 🙏

Family surf lesson - The entire Tico’s crew was amazing. They gave an awesome family surf lesson, and Javier was the most patient teacher. We all got up and surfing quickly thanks to his instructions!

Knowledgeable instructors - Javier was the instructor who first tested my knowledge and technique on the shore. Agter that assessment we went into the ocean where he gave useful pointers and feedback. The waves were a bit small, they offered that I come back in the afternoon and do some free surfing on one of their boards. Later on the day I received some really nice pictures of me surfing.

Best way to learn surfing - Slathan was a great instructor! Our boys loved him and listened to his instructions. We all had a great time. It was great to get the additional 2 hour surf board rental included for the next day (although it was a lot harder without Slathan!)

Excellent experience! 10/10 - Daniel was a great teacher. Within a short time he taught us the surf basics in a good way, so that we were able to catch some waves after. He was very patient and helpful! Not even 24 hrs after the class we received some very good quality photos of us on the board. My boyfriend was able to use the surf board some more time afterwards. They have nice sunbeds and sunshades, showers and you can let them watch your belongings! 100% recommendable

Fantastic coaching- affordable price. - My instructor Slathan was fantastic!! I showed up today on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00 and asked if there were any lessons I could take. They set me up with a private lesson right away and in 20 min I was up on a wave surfing!!! I had never surfed before, and due to Slathan’s experienced coaching and excellent guidance I was able to surf without assistance by the end of my 90 minute lesson and caught 4 waves completely independently. 5-star experience!!! Will definitely come back for another lesson! Also it was all only $60 USD for a private 90 min lesson which felt so worth it as Slathan pushed me on to wave after wave and got me many repetitions so I felt comfortable riding before I attempted to catch my own waves. Initially I thought a group lesson would be a better deal, but in retrospect the private lesson provided personalized instruction and many repetitions on the waves.

We love Ticos surf school! Emerson is a great instructor! Wonderful photos! - We loved Ticos surf school! My whole family took surf lessons for the first time and loved it. Emerson was our instructor and he was wonderful! We had fun and learned a lot. They also took amazing photos of us that we will cherish forever.

Super beginner coaching - I had my first surf lesson with Javier today, he explained everything super easy, first in theory, then in practice on the water, even in German 👌. With this professional help, it worked out even at the first wave, and a few more followed. After many waves I was dog tired but highly satisfied 🤩. I can only recommend the surf school, good teachers, super organized, I'd love to come back!
