Ranked as one of Croatia’s most frequented parks, Plitvice Lakes National Park holds the title of being Europe’s most stunning national park. Comprising of a network of 16 lakes intertwined with streams and waterfalls, this park invites you to traverse its paths and boardwalks, immersing yourself in the awe-inspiring natural scenery.
Adding to the adventure, you will stumble upon the village of Rastoke en route to the lakes, known for its 17th-century watermills. This one day exploration of both of these significant sights ensures you make the most out of every moment!
- If you can, bring sportswear and comfortable closed/hiking shoes… lots of walking!
- Your guide will be available to assist you throughout the entire trip and guide you through the park.
- Approx. 8.5km (5.3mil) walk is the length of the walking tour in the park (highseason). You will see all the highlights, and don’t worry there are no big inclines so it’s an enjoyable walk.
- Some of the park may be restricted and is weather dependent.
- This tour will still operate in all weather conditions.
- Please note that from November 1st through March 31st, only Lower Lakes can be visited, and depending on weather conditions, the train and electric boats do not operate.

A Very Unique Experience - Be sure and dress appropriately for the weather, and be prepared to see some spectacular scenery. The walk/hike is designed well to maximize the dramatic views. The final short walk after the train ride is the perfect end to the day.

Plitvice Magic - My husband and I did a day trip with Pathfinder to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Our guide Marko was very pleasant and accomodating sharing his love for and knowledge of the area with enthusiasm. We normally do a lot of self managed travel but have loved the convenience and insight of an organised tour. Although it was an off season visit the park was stunning all the same and our own private winter wonderland. Thanks Marko!

Beautiful falls - I had a wonderful time during this trip. The lakes are amazing. I was picked up promptly on time and there only 5 people on the trip. The atmosphere was good. The trip lasted 8 hours with about one hour spent on traffic due to peak time. The staff, Marko, was awesome. He gave us lots of information, guided us through the lakes and was always available to answer any questions.
Due to the season (late Nov), we only got to see the lower lakes, and it was a bit cold in the area.

Fantastic - Marko was an excellent tour guide!! The drive was smooth and pretty. We had tons of time to wander around at Plitvice. I was thankful for the guaranteed departure because my other tour got canceled. Marko let me go ahead since it wasn't crowded, so I was able to fully immerse myself in nature without anyone right next to me. Overall highly recommend the experience!!

Highly recommended! - Visiting Zagreb and not experiencing this tour would be such a shame. Plitvice Lakes are spectacular on their own but experiencing them with friendly and knowledgeable tour guide made the experience more impressive and memorable. It was cold and snowy, as you'd expect during this time of the year, but that made the park pretty empty so you get to enjoy peaceful stroll and sounds of nature versus excessive noise pollution from other tourists. It felt like we were super rich people who booked the entire place just for us to enjoy it. Park was THAT empty during some parts of the experience. :D Dressing up properly and knowing what to expect from the tour (lots of walking) are a must to fully enjoy the experience. We received detailed information and instructions prior to the tour and I can't think of anything important that was not communicated. Tour guide Marko was very friendly, knowledgeable, genuine, kind, easy to talk to and went above and beyond to ensure everyone in our small group was taken care of. He shared his wealth of knowledge but also allowed space for silence. He made himself available at all times but still very respectful that different people may want different experience. Marko was super clear and direct about expectations from any humans entering this gorgeous park and shared some cautionary tales of how human behaviour in past had negative impact on the park itself and limited experience of future visitors. Its a testament to how fragile nature is and how destructive some human behaviour (intentional or unintentional) can be to it. I definitely want to come back during warmer time of the year to experience (as Marko calls it) "Jurassic Park" version of Plitvice with more greenery and I'll be recommending this tour, agency and Marko as a tour guide to everyone I know when they visit Croatia / Zagreb. Thank you!

Fantastic Solo Tour — Highly Recommend! - I did a solo day trip from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes with Pathfinder, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was well organized, smooth, and stress-free. My guide, Sasha, was outstanding — incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Croatia. He customized the tour to my pace, showed me the best viewpoints, shared great stories, and helped me capture beautiful photos.
As a solo traveler, I felt completely comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. Plitvice is stunning, but experiencing it with Sasha made it unforgettable. Highly recommend Pathfinder — and definitely ask for Sasha!

Plitvice Lakes National... - Plitvice Lakes National Park is the most magical place on earth. I feel so grateful to see it. One can be healed spiritually walking on top of waterfalls. Sasha, our passionate guide, was a civil engineer. He decided to change his career to be a guide and he absolutely adores the national park. There was so much pride in his storytelling I am convinced that he loves what he does. 6 of us had an amazing time, thank you, Sasha!
