During the drive, insights into the Bulgarian perspective on the region’s history will be shared. Upon arrival, a two-hour guided tour of the city will be conducted by a local Macedonian guide. This offers an opportunity to hear stories about Yugoslavia and contemporary life in the country, enriching the experience. Additionally, visitors can compare historical interpretations and form their own conclusions. Key sites include the Old Fortress, Sultan Murat Mosque, and the Old Bazaar, where Caravanserais from the Ottoman era can be seen, highlighting Skopje’s historical significance as a major Balkan trade center.
Skopje Fortress Kale - This historic fortress, located at Skopje’s highest point, offers breathtaking views of the city.
Sultan Murad Mosque - An Ottoman-era mosque from the 15th century, showcasing the architectural brilliance of the early Ottoman Empire.
The Stone Bridge - The tour crosses the Vardar River via the Stone Bridge, the only surviving bridge from the Middle Ages, leading to the exploration of the city’s newer areas.

A boat trip through the canyon includes passing by what is likely the world’s deepest underwater cave. Following this exploration, the local Macedonian guide will return visitors to Skopje and drop them off at their hotel.
Free Time to Explore Skopje on Your Own
Skopje - This day offers the opportunity to explore Skopje independently, allowing time to visit highlights missed the previous day. The local Macedonian guide will recommend museums and attractions based on individual interests. At 3:00 pm local time, guests will be picked up and transported back to Sofia, Bulgaria.
