- White Tower of Thessaloniki - The White Tower is a historic monument and museum located on the waterfront of Thessaloniki, the capital of the Macedonia region in northern Greece. The current tower replaced an ancient Byzantine fortification, mentioned as early as the 12th century, which was reconstructed by the Ottoman Empire to strengthen the city’s defenses after Sultan Murad II captured Thessaloniki in 1430. During Ottoman rule, the tower was infamous as a prison and the site of numerous mass executions, notably of the Janissaries who rebelled during Mahmud II’s reign. In 1912, when Greece took control of the city, the White Tower was extensively renovated and its exterior was whitewashed. It has since become a symbol of the city.
- Aristotelous Square - Designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918, most of the square was constructed in the 1950s. Many surrounding buildings have been renovated, with significant restoration of its northern parts occurring in the 2000s.
- Arabella Cruise Bar (Pirate Ship) - Enjoy a cruise on a Pirate ship along the coast of Thessaloniki.
- Church of Agia Sofia - Dating back to the 7th century, this is one of the oldest churches still standing in the city. Its remarkable Byzantine art and architecture, along with its significance in early Christianity, led to its inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
- Arch of Galerius - The Arch of Galerius, also known as Kamara, and the Rotunda are neighboring early 4th-century AD monuments in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, northern Greece. These sites are exemplary of early Byzantine art and architecture, and the Rotunda’s significance as one of the earliest Christian monuments in the Eastern Roman Empire led to their inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988 as part of Thessaloniki’s Paleochristian and Byzantine monuments.
- Ladadika District - Ladadika is a lively entertainment district with cobbled streets filled with bustling tavernas, bistros, and espresso bars, all housed in former olive oil shops.
- The Kapani (Vlali) Market - The open-air Kapani Market is the oldest marketplace in Thessaloniki.
