I lucked out and had a retired Architect tour guide for my tour down 16th Street (Main Street). He pointed out a ton of architectural design and discussed history that I would never have seen or heard of had it not been for him. I can't wait for my next historical tour in September, 2018.
Excellent guides, Jen and Chris. Info was thorough and interesting.
Our guide Tom was very personable, interesting and informative.
Great tour and well paced. Joan is extremely knowledgable and sprinkled in fun stories about many of the buildings. Would recommend for tourists and locals alike!
I learned so much about Denver's Main Street from Joan. I am also a volunteer for Historic Denver and lead tours at the Molly Brown House (maybe someday, when I have more time, I can train to lead walking tours). Really enjoyed the learning and can incorporate some of what I learned into my tours. Also, thanks to Joan, for letting me give a plug for the Molly Brown House.
Did the Denver Main Street Tour. Joan was excellent. Thanks.
the guide was very friendly and knowledgable
This was a great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It turns out that my wife and I were the only ones who either signed up or showed up so it was great to get a private tour!
Historical buildings and stories were interestingly presented by docent.
Chris was an outstanding guide: very personable, knowledgeable, pleasant. He made the tour a totally enjoyable and educational experience. I hope there may be additional opportunities to take other tours with him. Kindly convey our compliments and thanks to him. The best!!
What a fun tour! The tour guide was very knowledgeable. Wonderful to learn about our local history.
Tour leader was very knowledgeable with good people skills. There was much information that was new to me, although I have lived in Denver for years.
Liked the timing ... start at 9:30 and 1 1/2 hrs is about right. Thanks for the pictures and the information was good. Wished there was a little bit more about the "people" history of the times ... in addition to the "building" history of the times, especially since the tour guide said he had worked in Denver around the 16th street mall for 20+ years ... he must have at least a few personal stories of his working days on 16th street. Not complaining about the guide he was good, considerate, moved us to the shade when possible, spoke up so we could hear and did his best to answer questions, so gave him the 5-star rating.
Without the tour we would walk up and down 16th without knowing about the history and architecture
Very informative, good pace, neat!
The very best part of being with a knowledgeable guide is that they will highlight the little things that you might never notice yourself.
Chris was very immersed in the subject and enabled me to see the mall in a very different light. unfortunately most of the time, viewers only pay attention to what is going on in the pedestrian area ad first floor shops. By looking up, one can see the beauty of the original buildings is still there.
Chris gave an excellent tour. Very informative.
Chris, knows his stuff...as always.
The docents were very knowledgeable and I loved learning so much about Denver.
