• Sitka - Outer Coast Charters offers private, small group scenic and wildlife boat tours. Each custom adventure benefits from the comfort and safety of our Suzy-Q Stabicraft. This vessel, crafted in New Zealand, is a double-hulled aluminum Stabicraft 2500 Ultracab XL safety boat. Every tour is uniquely designed based on the weather, sea conditions, and optimal wildlife viewing opportunities each day. If conditions permit, we will journey to the Saint Lazaria Islands. Alternatively, we will explore Sitka Sound and its numerous islands and coves to ensure your group has the best adventure possible.
  Your private charter will focus on prime locations for scenic and wildlife photography, which may include: Humpback Whales, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Dolphins, Harbor Seals, Orcas, Eagles, Puffins, various Seabirds, as well as stunning Volcano, Mountain, and Ocean Views.

• Saint Lazaria Islands - If conditions allow, we will travel to the Saint Lazaria Islands.
  St. Lazaria Island is a nesting bird colony located twenty miles (32 km) west of Sitka, Alaska, and is part of the Gulf of Alaska unit of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. It was initially designated as a “refuge for seabirds” in 1909 and received official Wilderness Designation from Congress in 1970. It was incorporated into the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge in 1980. The main island is believed to be the remnants of an eroded volcano; a “volcanic plug” whose cliffs are home to over half a million various species of seabirds.

Choose your preferred start time, anytime between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. The tour includes 3 hours, but you have the flexibility to adjust the duration of your private tour as desired.

Your guide is a Merchant Marine Captain with over 30 years of maritime experience, who will take you on a journey around Sitka Sound, the Saint Lazaria Islands, and Mt. Edgecumbe, our local volcano.
