Unforgettable Day on the Water with Billy Bones Boat Company! - We had an absolutely incredible experience with Billy Bones Boat Company that we’ll be talking about for years to come! From start to finish, the crew made the day unforgettable. Captain Sammy and deckhand Lucas were phenomenal—attentive, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome and cared for.
The excursion took us to several amazing snorkel spots with crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life. In between dives, we learned about the rich history of St. Martin—Captain Sammy has a great way of storytelling that keeps you both entertained and informed.
One of the highlights was pulling up near the airport beach to watch planes landing and taking off just overhead—such a cool, unique experience!
Lunch was another standout moment—fresh fish, chicken, salad, plantains, and more. Everything was delicious, and it was clear the crew takes pride in the full experience, not just the ride.
This was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. If you’re in St. Martin and looking for the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, great food, and top-tier service, look no further. Highly, highly recommend Billy Bones Boat Company!

The best day! - We had the best day with Captain Nico and first mate Nacho! They were both friendly and informative as we toured the island. We swam with the turtles, saw lots fish snorkeling and had a fabulous lunch! We even stopped to see the planes at Maho beach. We couldn’t have had a better day! And we were lucky — with very friendly guests on board. Highly recommend!!!

Great day on the water! ... - Great day on the water! Seas were rough so our itinerary was tweaked a bit. Didn’t feel as if we missed out on anything. The captain found calm water for us to swim and snorkel. Boat was smooth through waves and kids loved it. Really enjoyed our day!

Just book it - you'll be glad you did - Great experience and wonderful day. Crew was great, itinerary was perfect and not rushed, had us back in plenty of time to board the cruise ship. This is the second time we've done this in St. Maarten and it's been fantastic both times.
Food is included along with beer and rum punch. Bring sunscreen.
Don't bother with the cruise ship excursions -- book this!

The BEST of St. Maarten indeed! - What an amazing experience! We were in town for the day as our cruise ship was docked, and this looked like a great option. It was a simple walk from the cruise port, around 10 minutes, and we found the meeting point easily. Captain Sammy and First Mate Merritt (hope I spelled that right, sorry if not!) were simply the best! We had a beautiful drive thru the harbor and gawked at all of the yachts. Then Sammy opened up the engines and we had a thrilling ride across the water to our first stop. Two snorkeling spots, a stop to visit some friendly iguanas, a delicious BBQ lunch in Grand Case, and the highlight: sitting in the water at Maho Beach, right under the flight path as multiple planes landed at the airport. We had water, soft drinks, beer, and rum punch all day, and were well taken care of. We had only 17 people onboard, ranging in age from 5 to over 60. Everyone came away happy, we had SO much fun, we loved our experience, and we'll definitely be back!

Excellent excursion,... - Excellent excursion, plenty of rum punch, beer and sodas if you want them. Some nice stops and snorkelling. Not all the stops as planned because of the weather which is unavoidable and the restaurant lunch ended up being sandwiches on board because of the weather. No swimming with turtles. Not sure we got full value for money but Nacho and Junior were great fun and I’d still recommend the trip.

A Mixed Feeling of the Boat Trip - We are a group of 8 family members and had Johannes as our guide and J as our boat captain. Johannes was a fun and helpful guy to be with. He has kindly assisted and attended to our group in a couple of incidents and we were appreciative. J was much less enthusiastic in the whole trip except when we stopped at a sightseeing point then he briefly gave an interesting background. May be this is the way they divide the responsibility. At the end we honour their service which was reflected in our generous gratuities.
However, the main reasons why we rated this trip to be below average based on two incidents. Firstly, we all took off our slippers and were put in a big bag before we stepped into the boat. When we went off for lunch at Grand Case, we didn't know we had to walk over the beach with rocks and some unpaved path. Once we sat down in the restaurant, we asked whether we can get our slippers back. With three seniors (65+) with us, we all didn't want to walk back and go to the restroom with bare foot for safety and sanitary purposes. The only answer we got back was "Why". But with our insistence, eventually one of us went with the guide all the way back to the boat and carry back the bag full of slippers.
The second reason why we rated below average is that we all paid for the marine park $6 but didn't visit the site at all. Once we arrived at the meeting point, we were asked to pay $6 each. Not until we were on the boat, we were told by the captain that due to inclement weather, both Tintamarre and Pinel Islands on the north side would need to be skipped. My understanding after the trip is that the marine park fee is for us to visit these two islands which are under National Nature Reserve of Saint Martin. Why in the first place we were asked to pay a total of $48 for our group, knowing that we would not go to the two islands on the north? Here appears some kind of lack of integrity and/or dishonesty involved which we didn't expect!
