Best time ever in St Maarten - Great time!! Our Driver Rafael was awesome. He took time to explain everything and made all fun. The beach was clear and not that much waves. Thanks Rafa for taking there on that beautiful day

Great tour, guide, and experience - Great time. Everything went smoothly. The pickup point was precisely described. Our guide, William, gave us a guided tour to Maho Beach, describing life on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten and comparing it to the French side. During the tour we were supplied with refreshments, such as rum punch (Yes, you could taste the rum!), sodas, and waters. He dropped us off right at Maho Beach and was there at the agreed upon pickup time. In the meantime, we were free to experience Maho Beach and the airplanes landing and taking off. The day we went there was only our ship in the cruise port. So the beach was not that crowded. Found a nice place in the shade of the restaurant where we ended up having lunch. The Sunset Bar & Grill's mahi mahi sandwich and tacos were good, as were the drinks. But the best part was dining on their deck and still being able to watch the planes. All in all, it was a really fun day.

Airplane beach transfer - Unique experience of planes landing and taking off near beach. Beach is very crowded be prepared. Excursions scheduled ten to two but they changed it to three and traffic was bad and took longer than an hour to get to boat. made it closer than we wanted. Driver was pleasant and was informative.

Overly crowded and sand up the b*tt - The planes flying right over your head was top notch incredible. But the beach is very crowded and the sand is super sticky. The water is rough and it gets deep quickly right off shore. Two ppl drowned a few weeks before we arrived in late January 2025. When planes takeoff: sand and belongings are blown all over the place ppl chasing hats and glasses into the ocean. They charge for the shower and the restroom if you need those. It’s also a long drive from the port so if your on a cruise it takes time away from being able to do anything else on the island.

Mixed bag at Maho beach - The planes flying over your head was an amazing experience. Mayo beach itself was disappointing: way overcrowded, water was to rough and the current to strong, sticky sand, water gets deep right off shore. The beach is just not suitable for small children. The drive to the beach from the shipping port takes 30 min-1hr one way. The charge for the bathrooms and showers is ridiculous.

I do not recommend very disappointed - Very poor directions when you get off the ship. I had to ask multiple people where we were supposed to meet. There were no signs and no representatives to guide us. The meeting area is actually in a gravel parking lot behind the actual cruise port.
You are dropped off at a large bar area at Maho beach, and unless you buy lunch at the restaurant, there are no chairs or seating area available to watch the aircraft. It costs a dollar to use the bathroom at the bar, and there are no alternatives. This tour should be about two hours shorter. You are dropped off at 10:30 and not picked up till 3 o’clock. Speaking of being dropped off, our bus driver, Dave, told us to meet him in a parking lot adjacent to the bar area before 3pm. Everybody in our group was standing in the parking lot at 2:45. Dave, drove in, at 2:45, drove past us, and then parked behind the building, leaving us standing in the hot sun in the parking lot. Everyone in the group panicked and thought Dave had left us standing there. As we were about to go to the taxi stand, Dave came back around the building at 3:06 PM, and allowed us to get on the air conditioned bus. We had to fight traffic the entire way back to the cruise dock to get to the ship.
We were lucky our ship didn’t leave till 6 Pm. We arrived in the parking lot at 4:10 PM and most of the people on the bus were told to be back on their ship at 4:15 PM. They were all panicking that they were going to miss the ship. We were literally the last bus to come into the drop off area at the cruise docks. I definitely do not recommend this tour and especially if you were on a cruise ship that is leaving anywhere between 3 and 4:30 PM.
When we arrived at Maho Beach, I specifically asked Dave the driver if we would be back in time. His response was “absolutely, not a problem.” When we were on the bus returning, and I asked him again if we were going to make our ship time his response was “well traffic is tricky at this time of the day and it is not my fault“
Absolutely the wrong thing to say to a bus full of panicked passengers that need to get back to their ship or have to buy a plane ticket back to Ft Lauderdale. Very, very irresponsible.
