This brief 2-hour excursion guides participants through the scenic foothills of the magnificent Mount Meru. It provides an authentic insight into the everyday life of the quaint villages located on the outskirts of Arusha’s city center. This cultural journey through Tanzania allows participants to experience the warm hospitality of the villagers and the curiosity of local children, as well as observe the typical daily routines of farming communities. Additionally, there is an opportunity to sample local cuisine and visit a small home-brewery that produces ‘mbege’, a traditional banana beer from the Chagga ethnic group. The majority of the ride is on flat terrain with some shaded areas along the route. There is one incline on the way up from the lake, and the roads range from moderate to good condition.
