- Adventures by Asian Detours - At the orientation, the cycling leader will equip participants with a bike and helmet and share important safety information. The journey will then commence on a selection of easy to moderate routes, both paved and unpaved, chosen by the leader based on the day’s conditions. Stops will be made throughout the experience for rest and photography. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the island’s natural beauty and experience the local village atmosphere.
One possible route may take cyclists to the island’s western side, where they can visit the Pekan Quarry, explore the German Girl Shrine, and take in views of the Western Straits of Johor. Alternatively, the eastern route towards Ubin offers sights of fruit plantations near Chek Jawa and nearly untouched beaches and coastal forests, home to native wildlife. Regardless of the path chosen, by the end of the Ubin Bike Trail, participants will gain a deep appreciation for this small, verdant slice of rural life, remarkably close to the skyscrapers of downtown Singapore.
