A Culinary Adventure Begins

Bangkok’s bustling streets are a sensory overload, and as a digital nomad, I often find myself seeking out unique experiences that allow me to dive deeper into the local culture. When I heard about the Sompong Thai Cooking School nestled in the heart of Silom, I knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. The idea of learning to cook authentic Thai dishes from scratch, especially making curry paste, was too enticing.

The day began with a visit to a local open market, a vibrant hub of activity where the air was filled with the aroma of fresh herbs and spices. Our guide, a cheerful and knowledgeable instructor, walked us through the stalls, teaching us how to select the freshest ingredients.
