Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Situated within the royal palace complex, it houses the Relic of Buddha’s tooth. Historically, the relic has been significant in local politics, as it is believed that possession of the relic equates to governance of the country. Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, partly due to the temple. The temple, which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha, is one of the most revered shrines in the Buddhist world.
