As I stepped off the plane at Colombo Airport, I was greeted with a warmth that felt like coming home. The drive to Nuwara Eliya was a scenic one, with stops at the Sri Hanuman Temple and the Tea Bush Viewpoint. The rolling hills and tea plantations were a sight to behold, and I regretted not having enough time to visit a tea factory. However, the beauty of the landscape was enough to fill my heart with joy. In Nuwara Eliya, I explored the Ashok Vatika and Seetha Amman Temple, places steeped in mythology and history. Despite the rain, the train journey to Ella was a magical experience, the misty mountains creating a dreamlike atmosphere.

Ella was a town that invited relaxation and exploration. The Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak offered stunning vistas, and I found myself lost in the beauty of nature. Our journey then took us to Yala, where the paddy fields stretched as far as the eye could see, and the hospitality of the locals warmed my heart.

The final leg of the journey was a visit to Bentota Beach, where the Madu River and Cinnamon Island provided a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.
