Sighisoara Clock Tower - Sighisoara is the only inhabited medieval fortress in South-East Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999.

The Clock Tower in Sighisoara is one of Transylvania’s most renowned landmarks and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. Constructed in the 14th century as a gate tower to protect the citadel’s entrance, it now houses the History Museum.

The roof itself is 34 meters tall, with the entire tower reaching 64 meters. The tower’s most remarkable feature is the clock, crafted in Switzerland and installed in 1648. On the facade facing the lower city, there are 7 wooden figurines, each symbolizing a day of the week. The clock’s mechanism rotates one figurine daily. The other facade, facing the citadel, also features a clock face and is adorned with figurines representing the Peace Goddess, Justice and Righteousness, and Day and Night.

Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Bran Castle, often referred to as Dracula’s Castle, is Romania’s most famous medieval castle. Situated on the eastern border of Transylvania, it was built on a steep cliff and completed in 1388, serving as a military fortress.
Bran Castle is now a private museum open to tourists, showcasing art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. Narrow, winding stairways lead through approximately 60 timbered rooms, many connected by underground passages, which house collections of furniture and weapons dating from the 14th to the 19th centuries.

Black Church
The 500-year-old Black Church is one of Brasov’s most iconic monuments and the largest Gothic church in Transylvania. Construction of this Gothic Evangelic church, initially named Saint Mary’s Church, began around 1380 and was completed in 1477.
Treasures of the church:
• The Buchholtz mechanical organ in the Black Church is the largest, unique, and functional organ in southeastern Europe, featuring 3993 pipes and 76 registers.
• The Black Church boasts the richest collection of Anatolian carpets in Europe, with most dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. Many of the existing carpets are donations from visitors.

The medieval fortress was part of a fortification system designed by Prince Eugene of Savoy to secure the defenses of the newly acquired provinces of the Habsburg Empire.
