Discovering the Wonders of Kula Eco Park

Our family adventure in Fiji led us to the Kula Eco Park, a hidden gem nestled in the lush landscapes of Sigatoka. As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for activities that offer both fun and educational experiences for my kids. The Kula Eco Park promised just that, with its focus on Fiji’s diverse natural heritage and endangered species.

The parrot collection was particularly impressive, showcasing the vibrant colors and unique species native to Fiji.

One of the highlights for the kids was the turtle feeding, which occurs three times a day. Watching the Hawksbill sea turtles up close was a magical experience, and it sparked a newfound interest in marine life for my little ones. The park also features displays of shells, butterflies, and beetles, adding to the educational aspect of our visit.

A Few Bumps Along the Way

While our visit was mostly enjoyable, there were a few hiccups. The zip line and water slide were not operational during our visit, which was a bit disappointing. The park did show signs of wear and tear, and while it may not meet the standards of similar attractions in Australia, the charm and dedication to conservation made up for it.

Despite these minor setbacks, our time at Kula Eco Park was well spent. It’s a fantastic all-weather activity, conveniently located near the sand dunes, making it a great alternative if the weather turns. The park’s mission to preserve Fiji’s natural heritage is commendable, and our visit left us with a deeper appreciation for the island’s unique wildlife.
