Angkor Wat - Begin your day early at 5:00 am to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Angkor Wat temple. Angkor Wat, located in Cambodia, is the largest religious monument globally, covering an area of 162.6 hectares. Initially built as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple by the late 12th century. Constructed by Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura, the Khmer Empire’s capital, it served as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Unlike previous kings who followed the Shaiva tradition, Angkor Wat was dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it has remained a significant religious center since its inception. The temple exemplifies the pinnacle of classical Khmer architecture and is a symbol of Cambodia, featured on its national flag and attracting numerous visitors.
Bayon Temple - Situated in the heart of the ancient city of Angkor Thom, Bayon was the symbolic center of the Khmer Empire. Dedicated to Buddha by King Jayavarman VII, this state temple was initially named “Jayagiri” (meaning “Victory Mountain”) but was later renamed “Banyan Temple” after the French occupation. The banyan tree holds religious significance as Buddha attained enlightenment under one, and many banyan trees grow around the site, making the name fitting. However, local Khmer workers involved in the temple’s restoration mispronounced it as “Bayon,” and the name persisted.
Terrace of the Elephants - The 350-meter-long Terrace of Elephants served as a grand reviewing stand for public ceremonies and as a base for the king’s grand audience hall. Constructed in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, it was originally used as a platform for the king to welcome his victorious armies returning from battles.
Baphuon Temple - Built in the 11th century, Baphuon is a three-tiered temple mountain dedicated to Shiva, serving as the state temple for King Udayadityavarman II.
Ta Prohm Temple - Known for its enormous trees and massive roots growing out of its walls, Ta Prohm was constructed in the late 12th and early 13th centuries. This “Jungle temple” gained fame from the adventure movie The Tomb Raider, with several scenes filmed here.

Preah Khan - Translating to the Royal Sword or the Holy Sword, Preah Khan is a 12th-century Buddhist temple. Built by King Jayavarman VII to honor his father, it stands on the site of victory over the invading Cham armies in 1191 AD.
Neak Pean - Also known as Neak Poan, this Buddhist temple is located on a circular artificial island in Jayatataka Baray. It was constructed by the prolific King Jayavarman VII in the mid-12th century.
East Mebon - East Mebon is a mountain temple built in the mid-10th century by King Rajendravarman II and dedicated to Shiva.
Banteay Srei - Banteay Srei is a 10th-century Cambodian temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Often referred to as the “jewel of Khmer art” due to its intricate carvings, the name means “citadel of the women,” stemming from the belief that the carvings are so delicate they could only have been crafted by women.
Kampong Phluk Floating Village - Alongside floating villages, stilted villages line the banks of Tonle Sap Lake, where houses and buildings rest on tall, thin stilts to remain dry during the wet season, with large ladders providing access to lower levels during the dry season.
