A scenic bike ride + an incredibly informative tea farm tour - The tour was an amazing experience. We took the 12:30p tour, which lasted through most of the afternoon. We biked through Shizuoka city, then through the scenic riverside parks, eventually ending up at the tea farm. There we learned a lot about the different Japanese teas and processes involved with creating those teas. The farm staff were very eager to answer our various questions.

Wonderful bike ride and tea tasting! - My daughter and I were the only ones in the group the day of the tour so it turned out to be a private tour. The owner was there to take care of us and was able to accommodate our requests to make some changes. He ended us driving us back from the farm and even stopped by a shop for us to do some quick shopping. The bike tour guide was super nice as well and translated for us during the tea tasting. The farm was beautiful and tea tasting experience was exceptional. The teas were so delicious and we ended up buying a lot of the teas. We're dedicated tea fans. Overall, it was a very nice tour and I'd highly recommend. The bike ride is pretty intense on the way out (all gentle uphill) -- so best if you love the great outdoors and have some biking experience.

Best tour to experience in Shizuoka! - We had the best experience with this Tour in Shizuoka! You can tell the organizers and tour guide love this city, and are very experienced with the history and happenings of the town. Our tour guide Roger is passionate about Shizuoka, and shared with us many stories and tips about the city, making us very excited to get to learn more. The bike tour takes you to the farm, and all the main attractions of the city. Riding a bike through the city, and outskirts of the town to the farm is an experience I would highly recommend to all. Just be sure to be familiar with riding a bike, and if there is anything you are unsure of the host, and guide are very happy to help. The farm is lovely, and we learnt so much about tea and the process. The tasting is highly recommended - I never knew tea could have so much umami and story! Thank you so much for the amazing experience!

Beautiful Ride and Friendly Guides - We had an awesome time riding bikes from the Shizuoka station, through downtown, into the countryside and tea farms. The tea ceremony was very comprehensive, we tasted many different brews and they explained the chemistry behind the flavors. Our guides were very accommodating and kind, they took great photos and emailed them afterwards.

One of the favorite parts of our trip to Japan! - We recently participated in this guided bike tour to the green tea farm. It was one of our favorite activities during our entire two week vacation in Japan! We were super thankful for Robert, our guide, for not only showing us safe passage through Shizuoka but also for sharing his knowledge about the area, history, culture, and people. His English translation during our tea farm tour and tasting was perfect. He was warm, kind, and super interesting. The team bikes and helmets were waiting for us at the Shizuoka Station when we arrived. The bikes operated perfectly. The ride was fun and not too difficult, especially since the bikes functioned so well. It was such a refreshing ride after hiking through the massive, hot, sticky, crowded paths of Kyoto. The scenery was breathtaking. Additionally, what we learned about the green tea farming and production process fascinating. We chose the tasting experience that covered the different types of tea leaf preparation in the production of different types of teas from the green tea leaf. We learned so much! Our knowledge and appreciation of tea has grown immensely. The teas were delicious and we were able to purchase many teas at a greatly reduced price directly at the production facility. Our only regret was that we did not plan to spend more time exploring the Shizuoka area and slightly more off-the-beaten path places liek this. When you plan your trip I highly recommend limiting your time in the crowded Kyoto and Tokyo tourist crowds, and starting a lenghtier visit to the Shizuoka area with this guided bike tour to the green tea farm with Robert and Hirokane.

Shizuoka A base camp foe Mount Fuji. - Base camp for Mount Fuji. Originally I was not interested in visiting Shizuoka, as travelling from Osaka I was searching for a place not too far from five lakes of mount Fuji other than Tokyo itself. So travelling by Skinkansen I landed in Shizuoka which could be rightly described as a base camp for exploring the majestic Mount Fuji, its surrounding areas and the famous five lakes of the mountain, nearest being lake kawaguchi. This beautiful city has many of its own attractions including but nit the least observation deck at tge 12th floor of Shizuoka prefacture building wherefrom one could enjoy a beautiful view of mount Fuji on a clear day, as very oftenly it is shrouded in clouds...There are two buses running from Shizuoka station directly to Kawaguchi station costing 2700 yen one way ir 4900 yen for a return ticket, the first one leaving at around 7. 30 in the morning and the last returning at 5. 30 p.m. Kawaguchi station being the tourist hub, you have choice of tourist buses, hotels ,resorts and taxis to explore and enjoy the area as per your pocket and taste... You can travel by a combination of buses and trains to Kawaguchi and be guided by a Tourist information centre located within the Shizuoka and Kawaguchi Railway station, equipped with maps etc.
