Explore South Rock Palace【南岩宫】, a Taoist “holy land” and the most picturesque of Wudang Mountain’s 36 rocks. Reconstructed in the 11th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1413 A.D.), it originally had 150 large and small rooms, pavilions, etc. The Grand Saint Nanyan Palace expanded to 460 rooms in the 31st year of Jiajing (1552 A.D.). Named South Rock Palace because it faces south, it represents the perfect blend of human and natural landscapes on Wudang Mountain. Overnight stay in a hotel near South Rock Palace within the scenic area.
