What’s the Story?

Tokyo’s streets transform into a vibrant scene after sunset. As one strolls through the neon-lit alleys of Kabukicho, the city’s prominent red light and entertainment district, there’s a palpable sense of a hidden world within the glowing lights. These seemingly secret pathways lead away from the brightness into a realm of tangled wires and compact venues, frequented by the night owls.

What We’ll Shoot

The focus will be on exploring innovative techniques for capturing street photography in Tokyo’s vibrant nightscape. Participants will learn about the optimal settings for night street photography, discover creative uses of reflections, and master the art of capturing silhouettes in high contrast or dimly lit environments.

Where We’ll Explore

The journey will take us into the bustling areas of Shinjuku and Shibuya. Starting at Shinjuku Station, we’ll make our way to Kabukicho, and then proceed to Omoideyokocho (Memory Lane). Following this, we’ll travel by train to Shibuya, concluding our adventure at the iconic scramble crossing.
